Looked awesome, but -40 F is a little too cold for me. I think I would rather go to a class someplace a little warmer.

Awesome stuff @Patrick Rollins I’m looking forward to hearing more about it. Thanks for the write up and photos.

So from another southern what was your system for layering and footwear?

Can't believe I missed another run of those beauties... Been trying to snag one for over a year now. GREAT blades.

I was able to play around with one of the Forest knives. Luckily I was able to get in on the last batch and now have one on the way.

Sorry for the late response Rick, for the most part I wore a polypro base layer, thick fleece pullover, and the Lester River Boreal shirt over that. On the coldest days I had a set of Carhartt insulated overalls also. It was all about adding and removing layers as needed. I was only "cold" a few times, when we were away from a fire we were usually doing something active. As far as footwear, we hit a Salvation Army store on the way to the class location and I lucked up and found a pair of Sorrel winter boots that were brand new for $30!

No worries, @Patrick Rollins . I'm sure heat and moisture management goes a long way. That's awesome about the boots. Some good deep cold weather footwear is one of the missing links in my outdoor gear.

I just heard that a few ago.
The man is a legend and has inspired many people from around the world to get out there and learn what the world has to teach you. We lost one of the greats today, but his legacy will definitely live on!
I am very thankful to have made it to Canada before it was too late.

Very cool outing, thanks for sharing. However I hate even looking at snow in my old age.

It was an absolute blast. I knew that to experience that kind of snow and cold that I would have to travel for it.
