    Hello Guys!

I had some, but they are gone over the years into other hands or what ever....

But what kind of Old-School Gerbers, Puma‘s, SOGs, Randall’s, Fairbairns and all that good stuff and what not do you have?

Oh heck yeah! I absolutely love old school tactical and survival style blades. Definitely following this thread.

Are you looking for primarily older/vintage/antique blades, or modern made in old school styling as well?

Sure I love the ones with a little history / story to tell - but as long as there is a nice Picture and the Old-School-Feeling comes up, I think it fits perfectly!

Here's one to kick it off. My most recent addition, the BRKT/Vehement Knives MACV-SOG Recondo. A modern interpretation of the "SOG Recon seven inch" knife of the Vietnam war. Originally designed for a contingent of a black ops CIA organized team. About 1300 originals were made and issued.

This interpretation is based on the original SOG Recon knife, with blade stylings of the Randall Model 3-7, and the handle profile coming from the original SOG knife.

It's name, the Recondo, is in honor of the Recondo team members who carried out some of the most dangerous missions during the war. Many are still MIA.

This one is made from 6mm CPM-154 at 60hrc, convex ground to a zero, with incredibly well machined brass guard and pommel, green canvas micarta, and a very nice MOLLE compatible roughback leather sheath designed by Jenna Martin of Vehement Knives.

    How about a Sykes Fairbairn?

Then I decided to sharpen it. I know, they were not intended to be sharpened, but I thought it was cool.

    End view.

Then after having it a couple years, I sold it.

This is as close as I've come to an "old school" combat type knife. The Western W49 was the first "real" knife I was ever given, and as I was in Jr. high school, this knife built upon all the First Blood and Jerimiah Johnson fantasies I'd grown up with. Hope to get one of those cool (well built) hollow handle survival knives one day, but until then, this'll do. IMG_6722.JPG

Not a bad knife minus the exaggerated guard. The tip on mine bent though but I was kinda rough on it.

Ethan’s 20 and 29 took this blade to a new level in my opinion.

Guard is big for sure. I used mine a bit as a kid on into high school, after that started getting into smaller knives as general use tools. But I'll break out that beauty every once in a while just for old times sake.
