I just re-handled a couple ferro rods (metal match) I had laying around. I primarily start fires other ways, but do have a rod on my person while out in the bush. For these two I used pitch pine (fat wood) for the handles. Thus having an initial tinder source attached to your fire making tool. (Much like magnesium blocks attached to a ferro rod.) Anyway, nothing fancy. I know some of you all do some stellar work. So let's see some custom handled ferro rods!
Awesome job! I love the idea of a fire source attached to the rod. I was considering doing some with maybe a wax wood handle maybe, but heres a couple I did the other day, not rehandles but still cool! 1/2x5 rods and handles we poured in shop! Ill bet other guys have some sweet re handles!
