Soon the Canadian Esee/Expat Corps will march South and seize all BBQ, Breweries/distilleries and introduce the USA to some real good poutine!

Finished putting up the fence in the back yard. Now the pups have room to run and stay active together. IMG_20181107_093538.jpg IMG_20181107_093541.jpg

Worked with my buddy the other night, playing around on his forge. I made a bottle opener while he made a pair of horse shoes. Right now I’m working on a tooling holder for his wife. She does leather work and keeps all of her tooling dies in a box and has talked about wanting an organized stand for them.

Busted out a quick sheath today. Hated the one the knife came with and figured anything would be better. IMG_5948.JPG IMG_5947.JPG

Yup that's it. (Well, artificial sinew as I'm out of the real stuff). One of CS knives I actually liked. Really wish they were still making the mini Bushman.

quick and dirty tin of wax/Vaseline and pinetar/beeswax shoe grease and cotton caulking fire tinder. (Had an almost empty tin of Huberd's Boot Grease).

like 1000' of cotton caulking for $14
    IMG_1818.JPG
almost empty tin of Huberd's (pinetar/beeswax) shoe grease. About 2 tablespoons left. (mixed it with the wax and Vaseline)
    IMG_1819.JPG IMG_1820.JPG
need to burn out this cast iron pot soon in a campfire. (This is my wax melting pot)
    IMG_1821.JPG
stuffed in about 20' or so of cotton caulking and poured the wax/pinetar/beeswax/Vaseline mix into it. Used a heat gun to warm the tin to make sure it evenly distributed.
    IMG_1822.JPG

finished tin of firestarting tinder. Pull out a length, fluff and light. Might pour parrafin wax over the lid to seal it up and take a second empty boot grease tin (cleaned) and fill with matches and desiccant, then seal with wax and place in a cache somewhere

How do you like that Huberd’s? First I’ve heard of it... How does it compare to Sno-seal? I like the idea of pine tar. Canadian supplier?

Turned the dead space behind the ceiling of my basement stairs into a dry bar. Still putting on the finishing touches but it turned out nice. I didn't take a before picture but you can see it in the background of the first picture behind Duke.

It’s best for treating leather, not waterproofing like snosneal does. Treat the leather first with Huberds then apply the outer coating of snosneal.

It smells amazing and can pull double duty as lip/face/foot/hand balm, fire starter. Does an amazing job of treating leather. West Coast BC loggers have been using it on their caulk boots for like a hundred years.

No idea on Canada suppliers. I got mine at a local boot store. I’ll see if I can buy out their stock and send you a tin
