Looks like I left the East Coast right in time. I don't need any sharks getting into the horse pastures.

I would have been at my old property in North Carolina. Luckily not anymore. I don't recall if there were any members that were East of me, but I'm sure @VolGrad will get some heavy rain down in GA at the very least.

@ManOfSteel 's dad lives right on the coast, so I'm hoping he's evacuating.

He’s stubborn. Not sure what he’s doing yet. I offered him and his lady my extra bedroom up here.

I'm in Richmond. Not really in the direct path, but I fully expect to lose power for a few days.

Don’t personally know anyone affected yet. But our family has had a hurricane and a tropical storm make landfall within 10 miles of either direction of our house in the last 2 years. So we can def appreciate the situation that whole area is in!

Anyone in the bad area get gas and water NOW!!

For water remember at least a gallon of water per person per day.

If there are things you can’t take that you want to keep safe. Pull all the racks out of you dish washer place in items and use the lock on it. It makes a great waterproof storage. Also you can use a front load washer or a less safe option but still ok is a fridge that has been locked or roped shut.

Also it is always a good idea to photograph and or record you house of you must leave. Make sure to Photo in every cabinet and every drawer and all high value items. It makes it much easier to file a insurance claim if you need to after the fact.

And on a random preparedness/ other note. Most Walmart’s that have bakery’s use ALOT of frosting. If you go in the afternoons after they make most their cakes for the day they usually will sell you the buckets they came in. Normally they have 2 and 5 gallon buckets that have a awesome waterproof/ frosting proof seal on them. And Usually they only charge you a dollar for the bucket and lid. Great over all buckets but also really good to store emergency supplies and food. They are also a great way to store water In case/ real quick in a emergency. I personally wouldn’t consume the water directly out of the bucket. But it would def be a good candidate for boiling and filtering if necessary OR great for any none drinking but cleaner water required applications :)

I live next n it’s path but not near the coast. We expect 73 mph winds and 10-15” of water. I’m prepared to live without power for a few weeks although not looking forward to it.

Bathtub will hold a lot of water, as does the water heater.

We have family on the way from Willmington, and with the recent change in direction we will be getting serious wind and possibly feet of water.

We prepaid for things like this though so we should be fine.

My in-laws live in Swansboro, a bit north of Wilmington, just west of Emerald Isle, and they have a rental home out on Emerald Isle. They've decided to stay and ride it out. Hoping they're prepared for it, and don't get hit too hard. A couple models currently have the storm turning south a touch, and coming through north GA before it dissipates. I suspect we'll see some rain for sure, but hopefully nothing catastrophic.
