Thank you all. I'm in the market for one (of either) if anyone is selling.

Finally picked up an essential on the second hand market. Nice overall blade and I love Dave’s sheaths, but the handle might be a little short for me. I really like the full handle on my talon, but wanted more blade. Now I have more blade, but not enough handle. Sigh.

I thought the same thing at first, but make yourself use it for a while. I think you'll really like it. One knife I have that's close in design but a bigger handle is the Blind Horse Ranger. If you can find one jump on it.

How do you guys carry your essential? My talon has a metal clip and being a smaller knife stays much more secure OWB. The essential has a plastic clip and it pivots a lot when OWB. IWB it’s secure, but I don’t find the sheath comfortable when pressed against my leg inside my belt.

I feel like I’m doing this wrong.

Inside the pocket. I have the new metal clip and sheath with the thumb ramp for easier release when drawing from the sheath

Is it the metal clip with the really small loop? My talon has one similar to that, but with a belt-size loop?

I count his work as part of my grail list. Honestly think he's the next iteration of Winkler.
