Really appreciate the pics of the 6HM next to the standard 6. For me, the original checks more boxes in a knife this size. I do like the smaller HMs though.

I have a couple of other blades in BO and they are a good deal more finished, and more smooth to the touch. I find the BO on the 6 to be muted, and slightly rough. I haven’t beat on it yet but I definitely feel that it will not grab as much as a 6 with the coating. I do however, love the feel of this knife. Very comfortable and balanced. I oddly do not miss the choil. I have to say, I think this is a nice improvement in design and is now much more of a woods blade, especially with the bare, ground spine. Well done ESEE.

Just want to drop a comparison with my HEFT 4. Very close ergonomics, most likely why I like the way this 6 feels.

That was fast shipping. Purchased them Wednesday, and they got here yesterday. #46 is going to my dad and #49 is staying with me.

    These are awesome.

The 6-HM is definitely a keeper. Had a bonfire the other night and used mine for a bit of fire prep. I was afraid the handle was going to be too small, but it felt nice in the hand during use. Batoned a few small pieces of maple through the logo and it held up. Can't imagine them holding up to a lot of hard use, but I'm really not too worried about it and I don't baton that much anyway.

    I'll post pics tomorrow.

It's funny how a few little changes can really change your opinion on a knife. I have a regular 6 and then I bought a regular 6HM and I wound up selling it because I personally thought liked my regular 6 with TKC scales better.

So why would I buy the GB? lol Because I'm an ESEE fanboy and wanted to get in on my first GB. I initially was afraid I would sell this one too, but it feels a lot different than the regular 6HM. The G10 has a nice texture, there's now powder coating and we get a cool black oxide finish. The 90 degree spine is also really nice. I think the sheath for the regular 6HM might be better, if I remember correctly or maybe it's just the one I got. The sheath is just a little off, not finished that well. That's fine by me though, this was a rush project for us fanboys. I appreciate ESEE doing this special project for us.

    Here's #50.

As cool as this looks with the 6HM, I’m thinking there should really be one of these with something in Venom Green

You are too smart. I would hate to get “Buried Alive” with those things.
