I went through a few sections of bicycle inner tube as cheap overstrike collars. They were available and affordable but the phrase "easy come, easy go" definitely applied. Plus they were a pain to stretch over my handle. I put my mind to making something bigger out of leather. Took me ~48 hrs in my off time to prep, cut, dye, and treat with hot beeswax. Definitely something I'll continue doing in the future if it holds up well.
This was actually Wednesday..... My first rocket stove from left over bricks in the backyard. I used the little firefly tooth pick replacement for the Swiss Army knife to get it going with some dry grass.
Niiccceeee... it takes the brick a while to heat up but eventually they suck air pretty well. What do you think?
Fashioned a removable (hook and loop) foam wedge for this Concealment Express holster for my P938. Much more better.
Made this from log to pen. Customer wanted a pen from wood harvested on his property. Also hammered out these two pukko blades.
Didn’t make anything but did some fixing. Sewed up a blown seam on my work glove and reattached a ripped off belt loop on work jeans. Not pretty but it’ll keep them going. I don’t like throwing out broken in gloves for a bad seam even if I’m not paying for them. These will go in my GHB and the new pair is getting broken in.
The axe head I got from @Bushman5 Vinegar bath for rust removal Restored an edge Hung a 28" hickory handle Handle finish Now I have a decades old "cruiser" restoration ready for work
FOOD CACHE BARREL Ate 20kg of mango chutney, just to get the lil 3 gallon barrel it was packed in. I hate chutney now. next I bought 3 cans of Tremclad spray paint, all FLAT. Green, Grey, Brown. Wiped the outside of the plastic barrel down with methyl hydrate to remove any oils. (had previously washed the barrel with bleach and dish soap, inside and out.). Laid down a few coats. Got plenty of paint left for touch-ups after field use. Added some green 2500 lb BattleCord for a handle and tree hanging attachment point. Plan to store mylar food pouches inside large ALOKSAKS, with desiccant packs added. also plan to add some leafy net material to the barrel, to further hide its shape and make it blend in more with the forest.
