Sold 2 CRK’s this weekend and was able to not only get my new Shirogorov F3, but had enough left over to pick up a Manix 2 XL. I had one of these before and kinda regretted selling it. For the ~$100 mark I don’t feel bad using it in any way compared to how I’d feel abusing the Shiro. These knives are pretty nice for their price point and pretty much any Spyderco will outslice just about anything on the market.

Agreed. The Manix 2 is a great blade for the price. Not cheap, but not crazy expensive either, ideal size and durn good quality.

Yes sir. I love the wide blade and full flat grind. Nice to be able to slice an apple without breaking it unlike my CRK’s

"Ravenwing" my new custom FS1 from Weimy Cutlery (in collaboration with Carter Cutlery) fits in just perfectly next to my two Winkler brutes.

This FS1, forged from laminated 3mm Hitachi White Steel to 64hrc, weighs in at only 4oz. It's a mean slicer, and feels incredible in hand.

The sheath is currently lacking any attachment (it came with a Tek-Lock), only due to being in the middle of designing various kydex backing plates, belt loops etc for it.

Here you can see the lamination line after cutting up a tomato (testing the initial edge before sharpening), the white steel discolors easily, while the SUS410 stainless cladding remains shiny.

This contrast can either been left natural (to patina with use), accelerated for a more striking contrast, or polished and kept shiny.

The only decoration on the blade is a simple mosaic pin in the center, flanked by two peened solid stainless pins.

@Reno Lewis, now you know I’m a good friend when I can be. So allow me to be your best buddy on this one. Send all 3 of those to me for proper disposal. I’ll see to it that all 3 of those gorgeo.. uh.. horrendous blades are made into scrap. I’ll even pay for postage since I’m good like that

I get it now. The most perfect folder I’ve ever seen or handled in my 28yrs.

These particular old classics were very under rated by those not familiar with the real Schrade U.S.A. made knives.

    Beautiful!! That is a looker!

I always fall for USA Old Timers. My only prerequisite is that the blades are not rusted closed. Schrade Waldens are some of my favorite. Too bad the people who buy an Old Timer these days is let down by the China stamp and quality.
