    Suspenders!
    Does anyone use them?
Do you use them all the time? Or only in special occasions?
What kind do you have?/ Recommend?
Any Tips, Tricks or NO goes for use?
    Leather? Elastic? Nylon?

I personally am looking for a pair that fully loops around my belt and not just clip on my pants. Hopefully has the back strap connecting each strap. Also a adjustable chest strap would be awesome! Any recommendations?

There's a you tube guy "The Essential Craftsman" who did a video on suspenders and pants that have the rivet type buttons for using them. Real interesting viewpoint on them. I'll see if I can find it later.

Sorry I think it was part of one of his videos not just about suspenders.

90% of the time when not at work. I prefer elastic because the solid webbing or leather does not give when I move around, bend, etc. That can become uncomfortable after a while.
I have zero trouble wearing a pack with them also.

That is good to know. I am looking for solid built but maybe I need to be looking for elastic just much better loops instead of clips.

My big problem and why I’m interested in suspenders is I am built like a skinny brick house... I don’t have a 6 pack fitness level but I don’t have a real beer belly build either. I can actual say I am big boned and tall.. In other words I out of necessity buy larger size clothes in the XL, XXL tall or extra tall sizes. ... But being a slender xl or xxl size the first time I put wallet, keys, cellphone and nothing else my pants start to slide.... I’ve tried smaller pants or shorts and I simply cannot fit.. I have ripped/ busted out of a few smaller pairs. Belts don’t really help the first time I tighten them and then move around belt just falls of also...

    Hence my need for suspenders...

Primitive website, but the Holdup Suspenders Co. has well-made ones. Their clip suspenders have a patented clip that actually pierces the fabric like a pin to completely eliminate slippage. Pretty sure they have the kind you're looking for, too.

I put "bachelor buttons" on a pair of hunting trousers and bought C.C. Filson Co. suspenders, they do an excellent job of distributing the weight of a handgun and hunting knife on my belt.

Yes. This is the answer here.

I once had a job where I had to wear a lot of cool guy stuff on my belt-guns, ammo, etc. Lots of weight. It all had to be hidden, so I couldn't wear that crazy contracting tactisexual belts and gear. I checked with the boys that do this for a living--Secret Service and and they all use Perry's. They hook under the belt so there is no way they are coming off.

I now have a camo pair for when I'm hunting in cold weather and have heavy layers on that tend to fall down.

    I havne't found anything better.

I've been using them for many years. Why I need them will determine which type I use. Most days I'll wear side clip suspenders (truck driver suspenders) with plastic clips. Great if you do a lot of sitting and the plastic makes going through security easier. Almost all of my shirts are untucked including dress shirts. So, I wear the suspenders under my shirts.

Did you found they held up?? I bought a pair of the plastic clip ones at Wally World and to say I’m concerned... I am looking at their side clips. But I am hoping to find the side clips in 4mm thickness there normal is 2mm.

Take a look at Duluth Trading. They typically have a good selection. I switched to the thinner ones after years of using the thick ones. The thinner suspenders are easier on the shoulders. I can only remember having issues with the plastic on one set. They sent me a replacement set with no questions.

I've been debating them for years, still can't pull the trigger. I sweat like a pig, and it seems like suspenders would only make it worse.

I sweat like a pig as well. Haven't really noticed that they make it worse. I guess when you sweat as much as I do it's all the same. :p

Oh yeah. They hold up great. I've never broken a pair yet. I was wearing my last pair holding up all of my extreme cold weather pants during hunting season. Once they got soaking wet from a 5 hour rain and must have weighed 20 pounds. The suspenders are the only thing that was keeping those puppies up on the hike out!
