Well the other site got canned so all the stuff I had in there for reference in gone. So suggestions on companies that sell complete uppers would be appreciated. Looking for FDE ,keymod hand guard and 8" - 8.5" barrel.
I have an upper in 5.56 from radical arms that I love. Buddy got one in .300 blkout, and I've only heard good things from him. Nice bunch of people to deal with too.
Aero Precision finally got some stock in and I ordered the middle one yesterday, not keymod but can change it later if I don't like it. http://aeroprecisionusa.com/m4e1-300-8in-complete-upper.html
Do I need a certain type BCG with subsonic rounds to help with cycling ? The BCG will be the next part I buy for this build and just looking for input.
I've been considering trading my 10" .300 upper for a 10" 5.56 upper. I just can't afford to stock .300. I have 2 other rifles that shoot 5.56 so it would be easy for me to change over.
Hope not, I was told 5-6 months when I submitted it before the 41F change but out of my control, I'll get when I get it.
Yea I won't be playing with the 300 like I do the 556, lets hope as more people get into the 300 maybe it will go down some. What about your bolt and recoil on the subs ?
No change to the bolt or bolt carrier, you may however need to adjust your gas for subsonic to work properly. I run supersonic 300 BLK in my 12.5" upper with the same buffer as when in 5.56, but I don't shoot suppressed so I don't shoot subs...
You do not need any special BCG to run suppressed with .300. The beauty of 300 BLK, (other than being nearly as quiet as a .22 LR when suppressed), is that you can go from suppressed to supersonic without all the tuning and fiddle-farting that .556's take to cycle properly. I don't want to get into all the tuning and different weight buffers and springs that the .556 guys piss with. Changing the recipe with Blackout just screws things up. It's designed to run a certain powder, through a pistol length gas system and a standard carbine buffer and spring. All of this anxiety over cycling came about when Daniel Defense opened up the gas port on their civilain model Mark 18 in order to run a wider variety of off-the-shelf ammo. This led to the rifle being "over-gassed" with more standard mil-spec rounds and the trouble cycling when suppressed, leading the industry to supply adjustable gas blocks and a plethora of buffer/spring combinations. You won't have this problem with BLK.
