I have used this blade for the past 3 months or so and made this write up that was published somewhere else. My review is too long and contains too many pictures to be shared here in its original form. So, I'll provide a link to my review ... http://www.thetruthaboutknives.com/2018/05/guest-knife-review-jeo-tec-model-7/ Moderators please remove it, if it's deemed inappropriate... Thanks,
Fantastic looking blade. The profile, grind, and length are what I would consider perfect. Only thing I'd change would be the sheath. You mentioned that you did a reprofile of the edge in your review at TTAK. How easy did you find 690 to work with? I have a few folders with Bohler's ELMAX. There was a bit of a learning curve required for me but I think I have it down now. I think you've shared a few blades on here that I would have otherwise never noticed in my usual circles. Thank you for that.
Yes, this sheath is OK, but not my cup of tea either. I have no hands on experience with Elmax powder steel. But from what I hear and read, it's real difficult to sharpen. The N690 is not too bad at all. It's not a powder steel and it's similar to the Japanese VG-10. But perhaps just a hair harder to work with. (Also the heat treatment and the given hardness can make a difference.)
