No I'm not looking to trade my wife for some steel (but if you happen to own all 5 of my dream knives, let's talk )

First off she is not a knife person in the least. She doesn't hate them and isn't afraid of them but she doesn't love them either. I've been pleading for her to carry something in her purse at least for emergency and self defense...she's a practical person so I'm sure I'll talk her into it and she would be fine with any color but she's also girly so I want it to be a nice girly color for her (pink, purple and blue,or other color knives like that).
It also needs to lock. She has a pink SAK classic and uses it for the tools but she's a little skidding using the blade in fear of it closing on her finger (it doesn't help that I have a nice scar on my finger from my SAK closing on it...of course I wasnt using it properly lol)...
I've looked at the Dragongly 2,Native and Lady Bug from Spyderco (though the ladybug seems too small) as well as the mini grip from Benchmade and the Chive from Kershaw.... I'm sure there are more out there that I'm missing..

I bought my daughter a pink RAT 1 folder & she LOVES it !
It would be a good start without sinking a lot of money in it till you see if she will actually carry it

My wife carries and Izula 2 in her purse. She likes it cause she knows she doesn’t have to worry about opening it in an emergency situation and she says it’s very comfortable in hand for her. As mentioned that dragon fly 2 is an outstanding little knife.

If she intends to carry it in her purse, and it’s for emergency/SD use, I’d recommend the largest folder she can handle and that is legal in your jurisdiction.
Just my $0.02, you’re never gonna wish you had a smaller knife in those scenarios.
The Spyderco Dragonfly is one of my favorite small knives, but it’s not something I would recommend for self defense, most untrained individuals will wildly slash if defending their life with a blade, the dragonfly would require a lot of skill to be effective at deterring or stoping a serious threat.
The RAT-2 is the absolute smallest I’d consider, and a RAT-1 size knife would be better if she can handle it.

I wouldn't say it's good for self defense, but for EDC as a nice sized and inexpensive folder .... I bought mine the Kershaw Leek. There were several color options available.

The Izula comes in pink and purple.

I've always liked CRKT Drifter in G10. I think they might have stopped manufacturing these maybe but if you look around you can still find them. I was able to pick mine up for less than twenty bucks. Great value knife.

I've said before, my wife has taken to that izula 2 for a neck knife. She wears it like jewelry.

The eldest granddaughter has a pink opinel.

My wife loves her pink Izula as a utility blade, but for close work she also carries an orange TDI. Once she saw mine she had to have one.

So I was able to have my wife handle a few folders I thought she might like and she really liked the Delica (as much as someone who doesn't like knives can lol)... as soon as it was in her hand she commented on how perfect it fit. I still think she'd like a mini grip but I wasn't able to get one in her hand. So the delica is what I'm going with and am on the lookout for.....thanks for all the suggestions guys.
