A friend of mine found this in the south east corner of Death Valley a couple of days ago.
It is 3" long, 3/4" diameter and the tip is 7/8". Any Ideas?? 20mm?? 20180420_151822.jpg
    Thanks in advance.

    need a banana for scale

but thats the same diameter of a dshka, an inperfectly measured .50, or a badly measured 12 gauge.

↑↑ Wow...We might have a winner!! The ridges at the waist look close. Thank you!

    Thinking further...30mm is 1.18"
I have found some 20mm training round pics with the same tip that look very close.

3/4th of king henrys thumb is actually 20mm, or 19 and a bit but after riffling and bore measurements ect. I may have mathed wrong, but wouldn't have to if you'd use proper measurements like the rest of us.

    Here and there...
    I believe it’s a 30mm round.
I also agree it might to be explosive! I have a couple dummy rounds kicking around that are clearly non explosive but I wouldn’t risk it!
I personally think it’s a bad idea to scrape it... If it is a HE round that might not go so well...
