I sampled Rome. Several episodes. It just didn't hold me.

But I found this -- at least the first episode == of Centurion. Watching now. Will decide whether to pursue more.

Ozark. Good show and it's filmed in my neck of the woods, literally.

Not sure if it's been mentioned and I'm too lazy to look but Norsemen had me cracking up.

Tried watching the new Lost in Space. The first episode showed some really good special effects, but they went way off script and have pretty much changed the whole storyline in terms of cast and what happened. Why even attempt to tie it to the original story when you're not going to pay attention to anything in the original story???

    *****Spoilers*****

A black daughter? Really? Could you get any more politically correct?

I got into the second episode before I had to pull the plug. Typical PC garbage with plenty of man-bashing, bad decision-making leading to disaster, yet the women are always held in highest regard while the males are shown as being beset by one issue after another. What sensible woman would think it a good idea to go on a cross-country trip through unknown but harsh terrain with a freshly broken leg still in a cast? And not only does she do it, but she leaves her two daughters back on the ship! Ugh!

I thought the best part was where the girl disobeys a direct order and gets trapped, almost dying. I had hoped she would die, to be honest, but at least I thought that would have been a rallying point for the adults to lecture hard on obeying orders, staying in your lane, etc. Instead, nothing. The husband is the only one of them that has any experience working in austere environments and surviving hostile encounters - yet he's constantly bashed rather than looked to for his hard-earned experience.

Couldn't be more disappointed. None of them act like they're highly trained and educated, or understand the importance of structure, discipline, following orders, prioritizing, etc. The special effects are good and I like the basic concept, but that's it. Two thumbs down. :(

Watching Wild, Wild Country, a documentary on the Rajneesh cult in Oregon in the early 80's. Actual footage from the time and interviews with those from the cult and neighboring towns.
It's not fast paced but it' ls interesting and provides insight how smart people can be taken in or led to follow someone.
It's an insight into religious beliefs and faith in general.

There are people who get triggered easier than a SJW's. It's an interesting phenomenon.

I thought Lost in space was going to suck. It's actually not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it. It might have a place If you've got younger kids and want to watch something with them.

Has anybody mentioned Altered Carbon yet? because that's a goodun.

SJW's are a good thing. There's so much hate running rampant, it's good to see others standing up for others and against all this hate. Thing is also, if someone has an issue with a person of color being on a show, they need to grow up, seriously.

You need to work on your reading comprehension, and knock off the moral high horse jive. Don't talk about hate when you're all too happy to jump to conclusions, seeing hate in every little thing.

    I'll second this.

I enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to the new (final) season.

Actually you need to work on yours. I was quoting his comment and you never answered my question on yours. That's why I asked you but you failed to answer, yet you get butt hurt. And usually when someone complains about political correctness, they have some hating issues going on. And no, I won't change my morals just because you say so. Seems like you have a guilty conscience though, but if that shoe fits, lace that bitch up!

My comments were very clear. You either ignored the context of what I said, or intentionally misread it. You then brought it back up in your next reply, which I quoted. Thus, yes, your reading comprehension isn't what is should be.

Ok then, please clarify your meaning of your statement

"A black daughter? Really? Could you get any more politically correct?"

I'm not understanding why race is an issue with you with a show character and calling it politically correct.

Good God people, if a thread about Netflix shows gets locked, I'm gonna start banging my head against the wall. Hash this out via Pm's and let this thread stay open for its intended purpose.
