IMG_1403.JPG I have tons of experience with certain guns. Very rarely can one pick the gun that they want to carry if it is your job. I had shot these before but not extensively. I really like this gun. It could be heavier for my purposes and I thought about the one with the rail but ran across this in a local shop. The SA version seems hard to find.

I am not going to sell my .357, 45 Colt revolvers or my 1911s any time soon. But for regular shooting of metal plates I like this gun.

Is it based off of the Browning Hi-Power? Something about it reminds me of the BHP.

I've never heard folks complain about any CZ firearms, seems like with their reputation they'd be a lot more popular.

Sort of but I cannot shoot the high power without modification. The beaver tail is a must for me.

I would say it is it’s own design but obviously influence by the HP.

Thanks for the reply! I always liked how the CZ 75's frame rail went over the slide, it just seems like a very durable design.

I've been entertaining the idea of a 75 for a while now. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Do you prefer the SA version with a safety instead of the decocker or could you care less for one versus the other?

I like the single action as I have no need for the double and the straighter trigger gives me more reach. I do not know if the trigger is better in general. I just happened upon it and got it.

The SA version trigger is typically a little lighter and a bit more crisp then the Da/SA version.

CZ’s have never let me down
If you explore Cajun gun works you can pick up a hammer and springs and the short reset to get near 1911 type of trigger

I would like one in .40 but probably need to buy used as I will want to sell it at some point.

I would like the version with underail for the extra weight.

Isn't the CZ 75 what Tanfoglio copied for their pistols?

Yes as well as the Bren Ten. It was not patented so no licensing was needed.

Ok thanks! I looked hard at the Tanfoglio 10mm before I found the deal I got on my G20. I still may try to find on down the road.

I have an SP01 and a P01. The SP01 is a great range gun shoots fast and flat. But the balance of the P01 is amazing

I've recently gotten sucked into the CZ world. I have a P-07 with complete Cajun Gun Works pro kit installed and Dawson sights. I also have a CZ Shadow 2 - their factory competition gun. This thing is NICE. hand-fit, beautiful finish. Trigger is incredible. And I have a Sphinx SDP Compact, which is a Swiss-made CZ clone. The CZ style, but Swiss manufacturing tolerances. It's super smooth. Similar in size to the P07, but a bit heavier. They may both compete for EDC duty... depends on how the weight gets to me.

Looking heavily at either the SP01 or P01 for my next buy....

I have a P01 and an SP01. Live them both. I feel like the alluminium frame and size of the P01 balances wonderfully. It’s a glock 19 if a glock felt like a real tool ( just playing all you glock people)

But since you already have a sphinx sdp, unless you got the all steel variant then I would go with the SP01. Mine is partially cajunized, and Awesome. Great range gun superbly accurate very fast. Just a whole lot of fun

Yeah, I am definitely leaning towards the SP01. It's only slightly different than the Shadow 2, but more fighting gun than race gun... so probably a good companion.

My Sp01 is the tactical model came with OK night sights and decocker. I like the DA/SA. And with a few Cajun mods you can really smooth up and or lighten the pull depending on what you want. Just make sure you buy a slave pin if you do the work yourself. Open up the decocker on a cz is like opening up a tightly wound watch
