I signed up today for the Battle of Fredericksburg Light in August. Got a lot of weight to lose before I take on a Tough!

Fantastic. Nothing like an upcoming event for motivation. After you finish the light, you will probably sign up for a tough.

We'll see if my knee survives. Not a lot of meniscus left in the right one!

Its a team event. Just let your teammates know ahead of time and they should take care of you.

I am! I am doing the Challenge and Light in Winston- Salem, NC in August. Just did the Constellation in Charlotte a couple of weeks ago. Cool event.

I'll do at least a light thanks to a free event code. Looking at the Pearl Harbor Light in Atlanta this December. Might have enough time to get in shape for a Light by then.

That's quite the accomplishment. I want to do one of those at some point but it's gonna take some work. I really had my sights set on the HTLS for D Day in Normandy but I didn't get where I needed to be.

It was amazing!!! Feet fell apart but between the rain and water evolutions it was to be expected. Blisters galore but once you get into a good limp they dont complain too much.

Yeah our Heavy was in-and-out if water a lot, feet were fine till the last half of the Challenge and then got wrecked. By the Light I no longer cared. Walked funny for a week or two after lol.

We had a couple of us waddling due to chaffing. It happens. The tough was hard to show up for. Had to be motivated.

Well, I finished the Fredericksburg Historical Society Light with Cadre Shredder and DS. Definitely did not train enough. Rucking is not enough to prepare for a challenge- even a Light!

This didn’t last long! Into the water.

    Then more water.

My shadow didn’t capture all of the fun. We simulated rowing across the Rappahannock like the Union troops, humped our coupons to the National Cemetary, created a human conveyor belt, and carried each other like battlefield casualties. I did my best, but I was ready to fall out a few times. Cadre didn’t ride me specifically, probably because I always got back in there.

Got some good lectures on the history of the battle and the NPS had a ranger there to demonstrate and tell us more about the battle and Civil War in general.

In the end, it was worth doing. I will not do another one without a LOT more preparation!

Congrats on your finish! I have a few coming up that I have to do some work to get ready for so I feel your pain. Have fun on your next one.
