11 pm Monday night. I just finished in the video studio for the day, another long ass day in a long string of long ass days -- it's my life right now to finish this project (which is at least three weeks behind a self-imposed deadline, but worth the delay).

I didn't get to dinner until 9 pm, then rewatched the segment I filmed in early evening, mapping out the edits (in my mind) that I'll do tomorrow before putting the cap on it by Wednesday, then burn to disc to put out to a bunch of people for review (including a few selected folks here).

I had only a couple of weak apertifs the entire evening, and am now going to fall into the hammock for the night, to sleep, per chance to dream.

You guys keep the tunes going here. I'll be back, and should have a bit more time to enjoy music soon ... at least for a while. ;)

    ^ <RAWKS> ^

    Hard core always does.

Ok, so it's early, tame hardcore.
    But hardcore nonetheless.

I've been around blues, rock, metal and all the various sub-genres my entire life. I own an American standard Strat, taught myself to play, and used to play Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, and countless other's that I've since forgotten about...

I've seen and heard a lot musically, but watching this guy in the pouring rain, playing like a mad man is just something else.

    Absolutely monstrous tone...

Here's the album version of the same song.

Here's one more... From before he had other band members!

^ Music done the old fashioned way: live musicians in the studio. ^

    Good stuff.

Mic'ing a drum set is an art form.

I had family and friends there when he did this tour and it meant SO much to them that they came there. A lot of the video was filmed at Balad AFB Iraq ( Camp Anaconda / LSA Anaconda) in 2009 if I remember correctly. The hospital scenes are from the Role 1(Trauma) Hospital at Balad. And the big long American flag shot is “Hero’s Highway” we’re the medevacs would enter the hospital. Laying on your back being brought into the hospital patients would look up and see they were being brought in under this giant American flag and know they made it to the hospital safely... It was not uncommon for patients to start crying when they saw the flag... Like I said ALOT of emotion in that video for those who recognize the different areas...
Your Gee Wizz facts of the night! The last flag to be draped over hero’s highway in Balad before the hospital shut down as we pulled out of Iraq is now on display at Wilford Hall medical center, Lackland AFB, Texas. They provided a majority of the Staff for the Balad Role 1 hospital throughout the Iraq war. 2ndly As they tore down part of the old role 1 hospital as part of draw down preparations... As they tore down the old Operating rooms and emergency rooms they realized the floors were stained/ soaked through the floorboards with blood and other fluids. Instead of destroying these floors were so much American and others blood ended up.. they were carefully removed with help of folks from the Smithsonian. A number of these floors were able to be stabilized and transported intact back to the states to undergo further preservation so they could be used at a later date in museums. So yes some of those floors you see in that video are now under the care and preservation efforts of the Smithsonian! How cool is that! )
