Sure you can, haven't you ever heard of a Rat Gun? In the same vein as a Rat Rod, all mismatched colors, but runs like a scalded cat.
We shall see how it shoots. Hopefully I can find a 77 gr load that it likes. It's too embarrassing. People will laugh at me. I can't be Operator unless I look Operator.
Ha! I have had two MK IIIs and that’s how I ended up with the IV. I agree you shouldn’t be able to own a IV until you got so pissed about putting together a III that you had to just walk away from it.
First time shooting my hand loads at 500 yards with my Mini 14. 52 Grain Sierra HPBT performed very well. All 15 shots hit the black of the target, with all but two inside th 3 ring. Including 4 in the bullseye. Pleased with the results, as my shots were equal in accuracy to some guys shooting larger calibre bolt guns.
It’s a .300 savage takedown. Apparently it was my grandfathers hunting rifle for bear/moose. You can probably tell these firearms were neglected so I’ve been trying to bring them back. So far the only thing the savage 99 gives me trouble with is the takedown doesn’t work and I don’t really want to screw it up by forcing it. That was a long answer not related to your question at all. Regarding the caliber, I was shooting 180gr Federal and those bastards went through two hardened harrow discs and another couple of shots went through a 10” unsplit round with knots in it. Impressive to me at least.
What brand Hawken is that? I've got a CVA Hawken .50 double set trigger, my childhood mentor put together from a kit. He browned the barrel on it using a traditional technique. I absolutely love that rifle.
Traditions Buckskinner 50cal. Pistol is a 45cal. my grandfather made, still need to restore the 50cal. Pistol he made.
