So tomorrow being the last day of the year I need to buy a truck. I have narrowed it down to 2 and hoping for some help.

    Option A.

2017 Ford F-150 with 4 wheel drive and then the basic options. It has 14,000 miles on it and looks and smells like no one has ever been inside it.

2018 Nissan Titan with 2 wheel drive and some upgrades. It has 10 miles and is brand new.

Price on these 2 is identical.

My problem is I am all about made in the USA so I want the Ford. Plus I like the Ford a little more. At the same time my friend works at the Nissan dealership so I would be supporting him.

I think my decision might come down to feedback on here. What do you guys have? What are y our experiences or stories about either? Any help is greatly appreciated.

F150 - I know several people who use them hard and they just keep going.
plus - 4x4 comes in REAL handy 2-3 times a year. (for me -- but I live on a gravel road with a couple 8% grades between me and the highway, and we get a couple of good ice storms per year)

OTOH, if the ford is a regular cab and the Nissan an extended cab, that would make it a tough call -- regular cabs are hard on elbows (or is it that elbows are hard on back glass?)

Is Ford really USA made though. Mine had a Canadian engine. A lot of parts are made in Mexico.

That being said I'd probably go with the ford. It would look better with your business.

I don't know much about Nissan, tbh. My 1997 F-150 has 248,xxx miles on it, and still runs like a top. I bought it with 84,xxx on it, and have only replaced the alternator.

    FORD.

the Canadian made engines are pretty much bulletproof.

The F-150 is the MOST common truck in north america. Therefore EVERY parts store, service center, auto mechanic, even in the most rural areas of both Canada and US, will have parts READILY available. It is the MOST commonly stocked auto part in North America

unlike my jeep Liberty CRD diesel......where I have to wait MONTHS to a year to get parts.

    something to think about......

more room in the FORD SuperCrew. 5 big guys and gear......no prob.

plus the ford you mentioned is 4x4. Better to have it than not.....

personal opinion: FOUR (4) of the guys i used to drive commercial truck with, their personal vehicles were all F-150's. NEVER had any issues.....two of the guys had ATV's and regularly went off road to go hunting . The other one towed a boat. The last guy used it as a daily driver. Never saw those guys ever pop the hood or call a tow truck. They just fueled them up, did routine service intervals on them, and drove them.

Everyone knows that Ford stopped building trucks a long time ago.

I would say Nissan but I would go with 4x4 for the same price. What motors does each have?

4x4 would be the deal breaker for me, gotta have it. I'm good with a spartan interior as long as I have 4wd.

Go with the ford. Nissan is a tough truck but being the same price and the ford being 4x4 I would go with the ford myself. Plus resale value would be higher on the ford.

    I wouldn't even consider a modern truck without 4x4

I have a 17 Screw STX and love it. I have the 2.7l and it seems to be enough power for what I would ever need it for. Ride is nice and its done well for the first few thousand miles. Hoping this one lasts awhile! Go with the FORD!!!
