Picked up one of these in gun metal , after a member here posted a link to it. after USD/CAD $$$ exchange rate, international shipping, and Duties, it came out to $125 CDN A bit pricey, but considering the pullover hoodies is made from the same materials as a USGI Poncho liner (woobie), and it is very compact , i had to have it. I wanted something THIN, WARM and compact to stow away. The hood is a very generous cut, has two cords to cinch it tight. Both the waist and cuffs have thin elastic materials on them. Handwarmer pocket in front. Flawless stitching. Donning it with no shirt I warmed up VERY fast. field test this weekend!
I might have to get one of these. My poncho liner was the best piece of gear the Marine Corps ever issued me. I still keep several around, I don't know what I would have done without it
you'll get the better deal $$$ wise......., than us Canucks with our .25 cent CAD Dollar and high duties...lOL
Would you say that they are pretty true to size? I normally wear medium, but sometimes medium is more like a small. 5'7" and 170#
VERY true to size. I'm 5' 10" tall, 205 lbs, husky build. Take a large normally. fits very well with FULL RANGE of movement room to spare........I guess this is called a loose fit? it goes below my waist, fits my wrists perfectly, and the neck and hood are loose fit, no tight spots. you probably take a Med.....but drop them a line with your measurements......They could probably recommend one size over another.
Hot link at the top doesn't appear to be working. I might be interested in one of these... Looking forward to your testing. Looks like a cozy little garment. I'd be rather interested in how it handles humid conditions, breathability, how it fares if it gets damp etc.
@Bushman5 this may be a stupid question but how o the woobies / this hoodie do when wet? Can you still get warm/ like wool does?
Just put my order in for the tiger stripe version. For anyone that is considering one of these hoodies, they donate a portion of the sale for the tiger stripe version to the Recon Sniper Foundation. For anyone that doesn't know who they are/what they do, I would encourage you to visit their website as its one of the few charities that doesn't have staff earning fat pocketbooks.
I totally missed that or i would have orders tiger stripe...... ichose the grey so i could i wear it in the city if needed. I will know this weekend! I hope it RAINS! I know that with my poncho liner, even wet i've always been warm. And it seems to dry fast.
Can you give us some measurements in inches? And thanks for being the guinea pig! pit to pit across the chest top of the neck down the back to the bottom hem top of the shoulder to the end of the sleeve diameter of the inside pit opening
specs for LARGE pit to pit = 25" (measured at chest height) pit to cuff = 23" neck to waist hem = 24" hoodie at neck level = 11"
soooo warm. So much NON RESTRICTING room to move about in while wearing it. And since its NOT a poncho liner, and more of a pullover sweater - it HOLDS THE HEAT IN . This as a top garment , and a pair of insulated pants , would replace a sleeping bag, reducing the load out that needs to be carried. heading out Sunday for Church Of The Woods time. Will give it a shakedown
I emailed Perseverance Survival about arm length (I am a tall) and here is their response. Here are some hoodie measurements: L: Chest (armpit to armpit)- 26 Shoulder to cuff- 25 Top of neck to waist- 29 XL: 26 ½ 25 30 2XL: 29 ½ 26 ½ 33
@Bushman5 did you run into any rain with the hoodie on yet? I've been wanting to wear mine around town but it's been raining and I'm unsure of it's waterproofing property.
This is the tiger stripe, size Large. I am 5'7" and about 170 lbs. Or for our smarter brothers, I'm 170cm and roughly 77 kgs. My head is huge and yet the hood works amazingly well. I blurred out my face because I'm fugly.
From what I can tell none of the “in stock” colors show a full set of pictures. So from the “out of stock” colors
check my trip report in ADVENTURE>>>>>i wore it for 6 hours in monsoon rains. I was warm. Post number 747 onwards
slept in the hoodie the other night in the apt, heater off. Just had the blanket on my waist and legs/feet. Was toasty warm all night and did not feel like it was binding up in the hoodie. (i toss and turn a lot) . As an added bonus, Miss Copper Kitty curled up in the hood so i had a fat warm pillow.
