Lack of .45 lever gun problem solved. I cannot find any difference from old to New as of yet. IMG_1383.JPG

HPG lever light mount on a Henry .44 mag tube fits just fine.

Not a .45 or .44, but I still think a .35 caliber lever gun will get most jobs done...
My old Rossi/Taurus (<---yes, it has both names on it) in .357 Magnum from the business end.

The light is a good idea on a lever gun! I am guessing it would work very well with a large peep or ghost ring.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't run it all the time, but the Streamlight mounts/dismounts easily enough that it's no big deal to leave the mounting base on and just take the light off and put it back on as needed, depending on what kind of trip I'm doing.

The HPG mount is kind of crazy expensive for what it is (though I can appreciate the equation of precise machining for a small niche item), but it's also the best option I've found for a lever gun by far. They list it as being designed for a 30-30 mag tube, so I just wanted to share it seems to work just fine on a .44 tube as well. I think it's already been determined that a typical 45-70 tube won't work.

The base not included, the 45-70 would be a .475 caliber. I know this because the Linbaugh is just a shortened 45-70 loaded to high pressure.

The scoped one is a 7mm08 and the iron sight BLR is a .358.

The BLR in 7mm08 is a perfect round here in the N.Alabama mountains and river bottoms.

I made the mistake of shooting a guys .358 at a range, didn't know it existed nor that I needed one so bad before that day. Truly a very under appreciated cartridge!
