I picked up this 9x9 Canteen Shop tarp from a swell guy here on the forums. I plan on really putting it to use this spring in the woods and in my backyard practicing different shelter configurations. Its just one of many areas I'd like to be better at.

I should have phrased it better :)
There are some seriosly good entry’s already and one esp sticks out to me. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they will win instead and then I can throw my hat in in FEB.

    * phrased the original post better :)

Got a Sawyer Mini from my wife for Christmas. We typically just carry all of the water we need (which can be HEAVY) for our overnight backpacking trips and longer day hikes. Have never used a water filter before and though we would try one out this summer as we are considering a trip to Isle Royale in the next few years. Plan on breaking this filter in and learning how to use it this summer. Have a vacation planned camping along the shores of Lake Superior in July. Also working on planning another larger trip for the summer - thinking about Glacier National Park or a trip out to Price Edward Island hitting a few other stops along the way??? Still haven't decided yet...

Well my one new gear purchase of the year so far is my awesome PR4. I am hoping to put this knife to some serious work this year. While I feel the regular 4 holds a solid and important place in my gear set up it’s not really a knife that I would use for “fun”. I am planning on this PR4 to be my fun knife for the year. Hopefully getting in a few days of fam camping this spring and fishing in the summer all leads to the ESEE bushcraft class with the PR4 in the fall, should be a fun year :)

I've always wanted to take a trip to Isle Royale. I considered Glacier and a few others until I discovered one much closer to me (in NW Ohio)...Bruce Peninsula National Park in Canada. It's only a 5 hr drive for me so a bit of a hike for you but not as far as Glacier I would think...The pics I've seen are incredible.

Bro, I wish. I have never been able to hunt waterfowl there. Duck Creek just nw of Mingo is a great place.
I have bow hunted at Mingo. There was a hard freeze on, we found a dry sand ridge, and had 175 deer under our tree before 10 A.M. A most memorable hunt for my son and I.

Pic is from the St Francis river bottom.
