For those of you that don't know, Waffle House has long since been the official eatery of Expat® Knives. The reasons are various and sundry, and probably pretty obvious. But, stories continue to emerge to reinforce our WH position. Here's the latest: https://www.yahoo.com/gma/waffle-ho...estaurant-064214890--abc-news-topstories.html
Being from Atlanta and a frequent patron of Waffle House this story does not surprise me at all. I have many many stories from my younger days that start with the most common intros in the south, “So we ended up at the Waffle House.”
Y'all ever see the DPx Gear Dangerous Places World Tour T-shirts that had Angola, Iran, Colombia, Afghanistan, and Waffle House listed? I have one around here somewhere. I can see an Expat/Awful Wawful collaboration....
Waffle house lost my business when they tried to stay cash only for far too long. I know they've changed that policy, but the damage is done and they don't even register when I think about where to eat.

That doesn’t bother me. I’m a cash only person myself. But I understand your objection. It’s the same reason I don’t visit Apple Stores. They don’t take cash. By the way, I’m serious about being a cash only person. Which has led to some interesting discoveries. One is that your local bank doesn’t really have a lot of cash on hand. If I need more than $5k to buy something, they have asked that I order the money a day or two ahead. Purchasing a truck with cash these days is like coordinating the moon landing fakery, it involves so many people.

LoL, I just remembered about the guy getting pissed off and backing a peanut wagon through the Waffle House.
What a great song. Sincerely. I'm not usually a country fan -- you'da never guessed that, right? -- but I always enjoy good country or CW when I hear it. (I've got a few fav country artists; I'll list them another time.) But this is exceptional. I really like the story line, the way the singer tells a story within the music, not just repetitious lyrics. It strikes me as country rap, or country meets rap. He delivers it in a rap cadence, though (thankfully) slower and understandable. I wasn't so fond of the video. Creative stuff for kids, but this song deserves some footage IN a Waffle House. Scattered, smoothered and covered, indeed. I've eaten in many of them, especially during driving trips across country. I made many trips from Albuquerque to Memphis for family reasons, and WH was a standard along I-40. I'll never forget watching a short order cook somewhere in OK that was a master of motion. Full house, standing room only, and she was kicking out orders so fast, both hands scooping, turning eggs, smoothering, browning toast, bacon, etc, etc etc. It was a true masterpiece performance. I left a tip for the waitress, but also one for the cook.
