PUB CRAWL - Feb 12/2017 - thru Feb 13 morning............

6 pubs, 12 local breweries and The Legion.....i think we came back around I don't remember. But the birds were chirping.

I know at one point on the crawl home, some of the lads borrowed a construction jiffy john and put it on two longboards and tried to ride it down a hill. I know it wasn't me, i don't stink..... :D:D:D:D

goods times. I've no idea how the hot Hipster chick ended up at my apt, but she was cute. Took her for breaky at BONS ON BROADWAY <<<<(and those former employees bitching deserved to be fired) Bon Wong the owner is awesome and has always taken care of my crew. a little over 20 years now. A couple of times he has comp'ed us breakfast! . Anyways fed chicky and chatted a bit. I freaking love being an OG . Life begins at 45......it truly does.....

HOBO CAMP 3 - "Corned Beef" Feb 13/2017

Took the Jeep up the Sea to Sky HWY around 1300 hours today. Took several pots of coffee to get going.

Didn't even change the load out of the new pack, just added a can of Corned Beef, some bread and a tall boy of Italian Lager.....

Parked the just past Britannia Beach BC and disappeared into the woods.

After a ten minute scramble, I was overlooking the sound, bathed in sunlight.

found a little spot overlooking the highway and the sound.....lots of sun, and three big trees...suitable for lashing a platform to (future event)

nearby was the start of a mountain bike trail, hasn't been used in a while

    lots of fatwood

time for fire! insane amounts of dead bone dry twigs all around this area.

I brought a kilo of crack with me.....er, ZIP fire-starters.......same as WET-FIRE but 75% CHEAPER, just bag em up in several heavy duty freezer bags.....an entire box (approx 30 pieces) costs $3 CDN, where as 8 WET-FIRE packets costs $12 CDN.

crumbles and burns violently , just like Wet-Fire, but cheaper.

    HOT HOT HOT

new pack in the sunlight and among the greenery

got that fire going hot...fatwood , lb for lb vs reg dry wood, has a BTU rating 1000% hotter ...I personally think it is a CRITICAL item to find in a disaster Situ, both for the instant lighting with spark, and the insane heat output......

Sun started to fall beneath his covers, for a nights slumber, and Night stretched her arms and awoke.....

and in a blink the bluff was cold and getting darker..........

the fire was warm, so i decided to roast some Corned Beef....

I like SPAM better....this stuff has the texture of dogfood.

had a Italian Lager with me...it was amazing. As well a OFF THE MAP scandi blade. And the 6

I managed two bites of coal cooked corned beef. This stuff is honestly better in a fry pan with lots of onions, garlic , spices etc....but its ok...prefer it chipped fine in a cast iron pan, garlic, onions, gravy....and poured over eggs and biscuits.....

waning light, stoked the fire up

    some pack shots

thats it. Doused the fire with a pile of snow, scrambled back down to the Jeep and sat in holiday traffic for an hour.

drinking ice cold reebs right now......and cranking some old skool JUDAS PRIEST - painkiller

Get some Bushman! Man I have not had corned beef in a loonng time! I remember it being more salty tasting than spam. Is "spam" spam or does it change depending on where you are?

I find SPAM more salty than this Tinned Bully Beef.............and SPAM has a better mouth feel,so to speak....

that being said,,,,,,,,I will eat either in a heartbeat, huge amounts of fat, protein and energy. But dear god i wish i had my spice blend with me to kill that mealy texture of that bully beef. In fact, a dollop of Marmite or Vegemite, and a splash or ten of Hot Sauce , would GREATLY improve the mouth fee and taste of tinned bully beef.

    and some beans....

    ok now im hungry...

Progressing the great day of outdoors onwards from the 3000 rpm diesel engine whir and 150,000 rpm diesel turbo whine on the drive home, to a very old school metal sound....

Vegamite? You are tougher than me. I tasted that stuff once and that was more than enough. Powerful flavor.

Great pics, as always. (I remember the west coast, but not that far up.)

Re your encounter with woman. PICS! Always take pics! Green and fungus and fire are one thing.

But cute women in the woods? Dude: what were you (not) thinking?

When you make it to the big time with SL, we can all say, "We knew Bushie back before they hooked up and became globally famous as a bushcraft couple."

I'm guessing mil surp inspired from a storm in the desert given the lightweight garments.

@Bushman5 i wish I could live in such a beautiful place. Also wish I had access to fatwood like that. With the Supermoto and spring arriving in a month or so I will be swapping out the street tires for something a little bit more capable off-road so I can start finding places to ride to and camp.
