    Note to self:

If I want to be able to do this stuff after TEOTWAWKI, then I need to stock up on the salt and spices and other stuff necessary.

I often wonder why these people keep coming back under different names. Kinda weird. It's not exactly hard to work out who it is ether. They generally keep the same MO. Is there not a way of banning their ip addresses?

At least I just straight up said it was me again, and I asked Jeff if I could come back.

I had a feeling that was him again. But it seemed he was being nicer, I didn't see the post above before it was edited and honestly don't care to know what it was I had just hoped he had a change of heart.

And high proof grain alcohol! Great antiseptic and in a worst case scenario maltov coacktail.

I probably should've been more specific and said all grain alcohol. The "currency" value will be higher since most folks drink it, but the high proof stuff works as well as any isoprophyl alcohol.

Not to be off topic but I hope they were banned for a good reason. Not commenting about this site, I’m new and so far so good. I have only joined one other forum before this, it was about bushcraft and survival also. My first post I mentioned Dave Canterbury and some stuff I read in his book trying to help someone out and several moderators PMd me right away and said not to mention him again, he was banned and I would be also if I mention him. I asked for a banned list if I couldn’t mention them. They told me to drop it or I would be banned. Guess that should have tipped me off. Anyway I paid $100 to be able to post stuff and after someone shot and killed my dog I wanted to change my tag to blue dog forge since I blacksmith for fun and wanted to honor my best friend. They denied it and I asked why. They said I couldnt have a business name unless I paid to be a vendor. I explained about my dog and that I have no business. He said still denied. I asked if I changed forge to scout if it would be okay. He said he would deny any request I made.
I asked why and he said drop it or I’d be be banned and if I didn’t like it not to come back. I took screen shots, sent it to the owner of the forum. I told him it wasn’t right for a paying member to be treated that way and I was banned. Talk about pissed off. Anyway a bunch of people emailed me and said just join under another name. I said no on principle. I guess know why people get banned here would be good to know....

I agree! But you should look up the Alaskan bootleggers bible. Shows recipes and still designs. If you make small volumes it’s not illegal in most states. Intent to sell or profit unless you pay taxes and get permits. Making for personal isn’t but large quantities shows intent to sell.

salt is a critical rural / wilderness / SHTF required item.....

One might make inquiries to wholesalers of bagged salt.....and ask for 50 lb bags.......

good place is the wholesalers that SUPPLY the Korean markets/store......often i can get 5 to 10 lb bags of sea salt for less than $6 cdn each......retail.....

imagine going to the distributer,.....and getting pallet prices....

    something to think about....

So I still have jars of salt pork in the fridge . Still the same pork color.

Might pull out a piece this weekend and de-brine it and cook it.

So how is this project going? It resurfaced in my mind and I’m thinking of trying it out.
