Hello I just bought a discreet rifle case. Its callled UTG Homeland Security Gun Case. I bought the 34 in case they have many different size case. I did a short review on it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002TUSDVW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AEP1P7GCUEII4
I like the musical instrument idea because that is one thing I regularly see people carry without hassle but I had a situation the other day that made me a little nervous. I was eating at a rest area off of the interstate and there was this guy with some kind of smaller instrument case (one of those hard cases big enough for most shorter rifles) who brought it into the restaurant. He was well dressed but he kept looking around in a way like he was scoping out the place and was holding the case constantly, even as he sat in a booth and ate. I know some instruments are a fortune and he may have just been nervous about theft, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I strategically moved my seat to one with some consealment with a very quick means of egress and then was hyper vigilant the whole time.
Yeah you never know what someone is crazy enough to do. If there was an evac because of SHTF or some kind of crazy crisis I would go with the guitar bag, so as to not draw attention.
I'm digging the guitar bag cases! Now that I've got a 16" AR I've been wanting something more discreet.
I bought the Alpha Battle Carrier sling 34 inch case. One of the pockets ripped out at the bottom after about 6 months under the weight of two loaded 30 round pmags. Other than that its held up going in and out of the car. It can hold two rifles but its pretty bulky and heavy with both guns in there. https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Sling-Pa...&keywords=utg+alpha+battle+carrier+sling+pack
I was looking at those. I didnt want to break down my rifle but that is a good way to carry broken down.
