I am eyeballing the swift water rescue and Shane told me about the Wilderness First responder course they are working on. Like Ditch but with WIFR certification.

Swiftwater is the most fun you will have with your clothes on. Especially advanced swift water.

Basic survival in January and bushcraft in March. I'm not near as advanced and knowledgeable as you fellers.

I just recently learned not to run with the scissors and cut away from myself.

Shane was telling me about it at Bushcraft, he said he got beat down by the rocks but it was a blast. Is the new site up with the dates yet?

Oh, you will get beat to hell, especially on the advanced night swims where it's the blind leading the blind. I had a bruise on my ass as big as my ass cheek. If the guy in front takes the wrong line and smashes the rock, then everyone does. You can't see a damn thing and just hoping the guy 10 yards ahead of you is smarter than you are.

As far as 2018 dates, swiftwater is taught by a third party since we don't have an on-staff instructor...yet. So, we don't have dates up for the next one yet but we are going to do another one next year since some of our other team members need the certification.

We are doing our first WFR class in a couple of weeks. After that, we will have dates up for 2018 for a class. All other 2018 dates are up and posted.

Thanks man. I've been running my butt off. I was a little nervous about the PT requirements after reading them. But I'm in way better shape than I gave myself credit for.

On a side note, you had posted in the leather working thread about wet-forming a sheath. I ended up getting busy after seeing your post and jumping on two of mine that needed it. It's probably gonna be one of these two that I bring along to Alabama with me. IMG_20171224_211912416.jpg

If your taking leather to the farm make sure to wax it or use snoseal to make it waterproof. It will get wet, they look real good though.
