Yesterday I shot the most pitiful buck I've seen out here to date. I had 5 hours of hunting available to me for the season so I decided the first buck or big doe I came across was it. We met each other in some willows about 50 yards apart. I shot him and watched two big 8 pointers run off from about another 50 yards behind this guy. I'm telling myself this youngster will taste better. LOL
What? You haven't boiled them down for "Antler stew" what's wrong with you? that's the best part, just wasteful
Two hogs and four does last weekend, six critters seven shots (gave one an unneeded second round at around 220yds).
Apologies for the crappy image. It was 5:17 when the 556 barked and getting dark fast. There are millions of deer here, sadly most are goat sized, like this one. It's the 6th day of gun season and this is (only) the second deer I've seen...she's in the cooler now.
Sadly no, both full of bone splinters from the scapula hit. Watched this girl for 9 minutes thru the scope, she had her butt to me the whole time. She turned half right to stomp at some squirrels who were also enjoying the corn too, at maybe 45 yards. The 556 core-loct hit like a brick bat at that range.
