Bought a harbor freight 12v 150 PSI air compressor and used it last night. Aside from getting super hot and some of the fittings being plastic and loose it worked. Took about 2 minutes per tire to go fro 25 -50 PSI. At 60$ it may be a viable option for those that dont have one or balk at the 200$ plus cost of the "good" ones.
I ended up with Viair 88P that wasn't very expensive. The whole thing with 10ft. hose fits in an ammo can.
Thats what i wanted but the sensible wife wanted to get the harbor freight one. Was hoping that it would blow up but it didnt.
I have a small Blue Hawk compressor from Lowes that will run off an inverter. It was $80 with a brad nailer. It only requires 2 amps to run. It is basically an inflator with a built in two gallon tank.

I'm not the person to ask. My last battery was purchased in an emergency situation so the criteria consisted of, "does it fit". However, a simple dual battery set up is in my future, possibly with a little solar panel up top, but nothing to crazy. I want to be able to remove the panel when needed, but that's my only requirement.
I'm hoping to put together the pinnacle of a simplified dual system. I'll definitely report back how it goes.
Yep, dual system..!! I have two batteries, one is start and the normal needs, the other is wired to my power outlets for the fridge, work lights and power sockets for anything else I need to run. I also have a switch on the dash to switch the start to the auxiliary battery if I have done something stupid and lost power in the main. It was useful as the main battery was on the way out (got 7yrs out of it) and fading away in the garage.
The best air compressor for the money I have used is the MV50, the best bang for the buck has been the 12v Puma. It can run air tools. The MV50 is slightly less powerful than the single ARB compressor and the PUMA is only slightly less powerful than the Twin ARB air tank kit. If I had the space I would be running the PUMA, but I have ran the PUMA on two different rigs. Its a beast for the money same size compressor as the Outback Extreme. I really liked the Dual ARB kit but it was damn heavy and bulky to pack up. I only have 33's so the single ARB OBA setup works for me right now. But if I was running 35's + it would have to be the PUMA, ARB Twin, or CO'2. MV50 $50 Puma $250 ARB Single $325 ARB Dual with air tank $815
Saw the super safety siphon used on dirt every day and it seems like an awesome addition to anyone using jerry cans to refuel.
