Started this one today at bum camp under the expert guidance of James Gibson Gonna finish it tomorrow in the rain.
Here’s mine with the bowl carving finished, now I have to sand it. I started another one for my little girl
Its the one i started on the last day with that spare piece of stock. The class one ill start to play with today. Its more of a spoon than a scoop.
I appreciate the offer but this one belongs to my little girl. I would be happy to make you one though.
So I finally got them finished and oiled, now to put them to use. I think this has sparked a new hobby, I am already looking at some more dedicated tools for spoon carving. My try a kuksa next, we will see.
It is China Berry? One of the instructors at Bushcraft (Casey) had it, he had some really nice stuff carved out of it.
Hmm. Never heard of that one before. It sure looks good though. Ive used walnut and osage so far. Ill have to track down some China berry. Nice job on the carving!
Done two spoons so far. Wish I had time to do more. This one was done out of a piee of white oak.. Jeez it is a hard wood. My first one was done out of the bottom part of our 2016 Christmas tree! I thought it was a great way to bring back memories.
