Just found out they are gonna be making a hawkbill dragonfly2. Super excited for that one considering how much I like this one
LoL that's exactly what it is. I like the H1 steel. Not a huge fan of serrations but I know they have their place.
Dang it. I had a feeling that's what they'd make. Yeah I'll probably get one at some point. I almost bought the ladybug hawkbill but I thought it would be too small. I do have a Tasman salt that I use in the boat.
Featuring a super slicey edge courtesy of @Slade. Can’t seem to catch a decent pic but y’all gotta trust me. Thanks again @Slade
The shaman finally got here. It’s a XL version of the Native with a compression lock. Solo Native 5 - Shaman - PM2 Lock shot. Notice how the knob on the choil interfaces with the compression lock. You can’t compress the lock and flick it open. Holes in the liners. Top shot. The backspacer is steel. This needed to balance the substantial blade. The balance point is under the compression lock. Spine shot. PM2 is on the bottom. The shaman’s blade has high saber grind that looks very similar to the Junglas. Overall thoughts Pros -This thing is a beast. Lock up is tight. Compression lock is strong and reliable. -lots of blade - radiused scales are are very comfortable. -USA made. -stonewash finish looks good. Never had a problem with a stonewash on a Spyderco. Cons -scales are smooth as glass. We were running errands, the wife was driving and I was playing with it.it slipped out of my hand and nearly stabbed my nutsack as it impaled into the seat. -action was stiff out of the box. I ended up playing with the pivot to get it to flick open. Conclusions. If you like the native and want a bigger and much heavier knife, then this guy is for you. I like it and it’ll likely kick the PM2 out of mt pocket.
