I just bought a new 12" Lodge dutch oven. Now I have two so i can cook dinner and dessert at the same time. Going camping this weekend with some friends to test it out.
Flat rate box, if it fits it ships Been wanting to test that, largest flat rate box they offer and make a lead brick to the exact inside dimensions
Yeah I'm serious, I'll mail the lead box to Bushman5 just to see how long it'll take to clear customs Ooh maybe I'll throw in a tungsten rod just to give it a hint of radiation
I couldn't say. I'm no good at eyeballing sizes and there were no markings. No price tags either but they've clearly been outside for a while. At this antique store it seems like everything out back is nearly forgotten; there's some pretty gnarly stuff out there. They have a doghouse that's held together by straps because the nails have all rusted out. Why they bothered to keep it together is anybody's guess. All said, since they don't have price tags I wonder if they'd take a lowball offer like $20 or something. What I would do with one is another question. If anyone is interested seriously they have shipped things before. The store is Wall Street Antiques in Midland TX.
checked it out......their online store is actually 3 stores on Etsy....kinda confusing... and they only ship to US... bummer., I'd give em $15 USD plus the CHEAPEST freight to Canada for one of those pots (the rusty one, not the orange one)
Those really big rounded bottom pots were "rendering pots" way way back when folks got together for hog butchering. My Dad thought it was funny people used them for yard decor in the 70's because he was old enough to remember actually using them.
I just want a place where i can have an open hearth kitchen with a swing out cast iron stew pot holder.
It's not a cooking pot, but I remember and would love one of the old rendering pots. Everything in picture except pot, pan, laddle is scavenged
The pot and ladel belonged to my grandfather who was a plumber, they were used to melt lead way back before copper/PVC pipes. So no cooking with them, casting bullets though?
