When I first went backpacking in 1964 my pack weighed 137 pounds. I packed in a 18 man tent (with mahogany tent poles and cast iron tent pegs,) half a cow, 17 gallons of water, 34 tins of bacon and beans, 12 knives, a sleeping bag so big that 8 people could fit inside it, a rock for a pillow, another rock for a backup pillow, 3 nestling cast iron Dutch ovens, a 4 poster bed, my butler, 2 axes, 7 pounds of oatmeal for breakfast, 2 dozen eggs, a camp chair carved from solid Oak, a shovel, a pick axe, my brass telescope, a leather bound atlas of the world, 4 gallons of gasoline for starting the camp fire and my Grandfathers Elephant gun.

    That was 47 years ago.

I really think we all need to return to the glory days of a full camp. Crates of booze, crates of meat and food, proper tents and furniture, a good tea set, Porters and classic rifles and pith helmets

I would be willing to start a business venture , if I could get some $$$$ backing............Imagine taking people of today , on a full blown expedition, with all the accouterments.....a gentile wilderness experience......the clothes, the camp furniture, the classic dishes and wine and port glasses, tea brew ups, etc........people would pay money for that....

That would be sublime for certain. I'm betting running mule teams or keeping herds of elephants to carry it all would be frowned upon by the Crown tho. :)

PS: I'd immigrate if I can have a 375 SxS to keep the Queens bruins from eating the clients. ;)

That looks a little heavy to to me. Do you also offer a carbon fibre version?

Yes. Watch for the kickstarter campaign coming soon.

We are also looking at bringing to market something we think everyone will really like: a small, pocket carried tool to help folks deal with various situations that come up in day to day life. We are partnering with a small Swiss start up called Victorinox on these and think they will be a big hit.

For our bushcraft fans the tool will have one or more blades that are easily sharpened and be weather resistant.

For the overlanders we've decided to integrate a bottle opener and cork screw and to keep the blade under 3" so that they won't have to worry about legalities as they travel from location to location.

Realizing that for many of our customers, that tactical edge can only be achieved by always being the grey man, we've reached an agreement with Victorinox to produce these in colors similar to those they already use for their other products and will be distributing them through their network, making sure that they are widely available.

We've been really impressed with how Victorinox operates and think that they have the opportunity to grow into a worldwide brand with a huge following. Only time will tell.

So you mean a small knife with lots of other tools attached to it? That will never catch on. Can't see them sell many of them anyway.

We had some guy named Tim telling us that we should add fullsized pliers. Not sure what he is smoking. I think he needs to go back to touring Europe in that crappy little car he's always talking about...

Can I get a drilled out version (handle only) of the spoon? :D it would remind me of the 80/90's mountain bike era....drilled out everything to save weight.
