Looks like a blast, I would definitely like to do that class. You up for it @Strigidae ?

@Jeff Randall what is the little clip looking thing on your izula sheath, that looks like a sweet rig for a PDF.

We have actually applied for patent on that little secondary retention device. This is just a prototype but we are fine tuning it. Worked great during the class and absolutely holds the knife secure. We're also going to be releasing the rescue version of the Izula sometime in the near future. Stainless steel, serrated, blunted tip, etc.

I promise we will not let you die. Swiftwater is way more fun than playing on ropes!

I was always told you have to face your fears, water I am not so much scared of, but fast water is frightening but I do to much on rivers to not have some training.

Well, if y'all are gonna do it, don't just do the basic class. You need to do all 5 days and get the advanced certification while you're already wet, tired, half-drowned, scared and beat up. We're working with Trey to host a 5 day class next year that will have him as the lead instructor and will give all the students Rescue 3 certification.

Swiftwater training is one of those areas where my skills are dismal even though I have a gnarly river almost in my yard. I took every bit of training that I could find when I had time but if it didn't include a firearm, it was not a priority.

What is next for RAT? SCUBA, HALO, Improvised explosives:D

And I've taken ever class I could find that doesn't include a firearm. :D

Shooting skills, to me, are way down on my priority list

I took the rescue dive training when I was to young to take the test, I would do it again if I had the chance.

There was a few times that I was standing on a rock ready to jump in the white water and thought....what the hell am I doing and this is stupid. But then I jumped in and it was fun. The pitch black dark swim was one of those moments, when you can see the chem light on the guy in front of you and he disappears, you know you will too in a few seconds! Fun stuff, seriously it is awesome! This class pushed me closer to my edge, but have not got there yet.

Yeah, my left ass cheek has a bruise the size of a softball on it due to one of those night swims when the guy in front of you just disappears. When I hit that rock all I was hoping was the asshole in front of me hit it just as hard as I did for going down the wrong line.

@Jeff Randall is a brave man giving you such a hard time especially when you are often rigging ropes when he is stepping off the edge.
