Hey everyone I am new to the forum here and need some guidance. I currently own a junglas and use it for all of my woodworking/primative skills crafting/camp/ bishcrafting tasks and love it for all of those. I am looking to purchase another smaller knife as a companion knife for all of those tasks. I'm interested in the cr2.5, rb3, esee3, or esee4 but don't know which would be he best for the job. The knife will, along with the tasks listed above, also serve the purpose as my edc fixed blade. I need something that will be comfortable in the hand to do very intricate detailed work with wood carving tasks and could stand along for use if I ran it solo on an outing. I want a flat grind but am not expelling the rb3 because it is an esee, but the Scandinavia grind I feel would limit it in some areas I want the knife to perform in. I am really leaning towards the esee 3 or 4 at the moment. Can y'all give me any advice in my purchasing decisions?

Seems the Izula 2 would be a good paring with the junglas. I pair it with an ax and no folder all the time.

My go to is my 3, haven't found anything yet it can't handle for a knife of that size.

I have the Izula, 3, and 4. Can't imagine EDCing the 3 or 4 but the Izula drops in my pocket every day for the last several years... I take it everywhere. Much better than a folder.

    All of them.
I own all the forementioned models besides the RB3 and the Izula 2 is my most used. Before I owned that, I always had a 3.

The 3 is the thinnest of all said blades, which gives it a uniqueness amongst the lot and it excells at slicing, though I've never thought twice about using it for more heavy jobs.

I always forget about the JG 3 since I don't own that one. Every time I log in I realize I have to buy another Esee to complete the collection.

I dismissed it until I started to work with it. Just works without embellishment or demands for additional accessories.

Ive heard the cr2.5 is the same type of underdog.

The cr 2.5 looks like a fixed blade version of good pocketknife to me. I should try one.

Because it is the thinnest is the reasons it's on my top two list. How does the izula 2 handle wood crafting tasks with its blade thickness and handle length?

I am looking at belt carrying the 3 or 4 vertical at the 3-4 o'clock position, scout carry, or cross draw at 10-11 o'clock for edc them. I always have an opinel no 8 worn neck carry as well and is what I originally paired with the junglas but has fell short in many ways that a thin fixed blade would excel.

I carried my 3 the first winter IWB at 3-4 o'clock. Worked well... my only problem was that on occasion when I would actually need to use the knife, there would be some weirdo(s) near me that would make some smart azz remark because of its size.

In contrast, if I use a pinch type grip with my Izula, the knife remains fairly concealed and I can open a box or something without people freaking out.

Thanks for the input man, and that wouldn't bother me any. I'd edc the junglas if I could find a way to carry it concealed lol.

Can you attest to the comfort level of using the jg3? Will it dig into or fatigue your hand at all? The angle of the blade to the handle is what raises these questions.

I cant say what it will do for you. For me there are no issues. Ive played around with many scale options etc and have my own system for each blade and for the jg3 ive not needed to do anything more than make a leather sheath to match my carry style.

    I'd go 3HM or 4HM.
