Patrick, Wendy and I use a Suunto Ambit Peak watch to record most of our hikes, runs, workouts, etc and was just wondering if anyone else uploads their data to movescount.com
But I did run a 6.30 mile the other day and I didn't even post it on Facebook. I posted it nowhere. Except here. Just now.
If you did a 6 minute 30 second mile I'm damn proud of you. My best mile is around 8 minutes. Of course I'm an old man compared to you youngsters.
You already monitor servers. Do you think I am going to let you monitor my basement all day? My wife has a decent Garmin but never used the Suunto.
That's awesome, amigo. I remember when 9 minute miles were kicking your ass! You and Meggan running any distance yet?
A mile at any time still kicks my ass! Its getting easier every time we go out though. 2 miles is our best so far. Trying to run 1.5 miles at least three times a week. We've both been struggling with shin splints that has kinda slowed the progress we'd like to be getting. But I actually kinda look forward to it now.
Keep it up. I run 1.5 miles every other day then fill in with Mountain Biking on the days I'm not running. It's addictive. Pisses me off when I have to miss a day even though biking and running kicks my ass and hurts while it's going on. I've been lucky on the shin splints this go 'round. Back in my younger days when I was doing higher mileage I suffered with them. I've slowed my pace down and running trails now more than pavement so I think that's helped a lot.
I use a Garmin, so my data goes to Garmin Connect. Looks like you may be all alone, Jeff. For shin splints: http://www.runnersworld.com/shin-splints/how-to-treat-shin-splints I got them pretty bad when I started training for my first marathon. I followed a lot of this advice, and it really helped.
