Im going to talk to Deneen about firing some Expat Knives ones. Expat Zippos, Bottle Openers, Mugs, Taxes, and Property Management (and 2 cleavers) Co.
Close. It's actually a smaller knife than the 119. This one has no finger guard and the back of the blade has more of a curve to it. I'll get it this next weekend and find out for sure.
Yes. Looked at it at SHOT. It was much hyped there in ads and rags. Not for me. But I think it will appeal to some. I love the fact they are trying to update their stuff. I like them as a conpany.
I like that they are updating as well. I'm not interested in the auto either. My dad is though. He's watching for the release to get one. It will be a good companion to his 1967 110. I'm really liking the drop point versions that are out there now.
Dang. I don't know that one. I have been talking about an upswept blade to include in the Expat Knives line up. That blade profile is perfect. I would prefer a little different handle. Maybe......
These where in the Buck catalog from 1976 to 1991. '76-'83 where made with three rivets in the handle and from '84-'91 had the two rivets. It was the Buck 107 Scout. I ask my dad for this one and he was hesitant to give it up. He actually found another one at a bow shoot this past weekend with the 3 Rivets. Ended up giving that one to my son.
Just ordered this 110 with a distressed brown sheath. Something about flat ground Bos D2 makes me tingle.
And they just came out with a 110 auto which I have mixed feelings about. But the 110 was my 3rd buck knife I owned. I had a small multi blade and a 119 before that. Love that thing but I feel like the grip is just a little too far from the blade as I've become accustomed to the ZT and spyderco knives
I carried a Buck 110 for years as my EDC, great knife, rarely carry it anymore however, generally favoring traditional slipjoints, SAK's, or fixedblades. Got this Buck a couple days ago though, and it's really rekindled my interest in the brand.
My dad gave me this 110 when I was a kid in Boy Scouts. Just like the one he always carried. Through the years it's been on countless camping and hunting trips and cleaned more game than I can remember. I broke the tip off doing something stupid and thought it was ruined. Dad re-shaped it and saved the day! It also has my name and initials etched into it by dad. One time years ago I set it down by a lake in Kansas and forgot it. Remembered after I was more than a state away. Turned the truck around and went back and got it. My wife (ex wife now) was pissed. It doesn't get carried much these days but it will always be my most prized knife. Can't believe I've had this for more than 30 years. Sorry for the long post. It's a special knife to me.
If I could like that post 100X, I would. This is what it's all about for me. If I could just have one single family create long-lasting memories with an Expat knife, to me the company was a success if it never makes a dime.
Here's my 75th anniversary 110 And I know it's not a 110 but on my last trip to smoky mountain knifeworks, C.J. Buck just happened to be there so I bought a 113 for him to autograph. I love this knife but this particular one doesn't get used much.
