Aegis seems more reasonable in price.

I've got the 16GB and it's more than enough for everything I need to carry with me securely.

I went super cheap and bought the smallest I could find (4GB). Even that is about 100 times larger than I need to store scanned documents and pics for travel.

The Aegis is a great since it requires no software/drivers/etc. to manage it. You just have to remember your code. Speaking of, I wonder what mine is.

It works. All you have to do is tell them you are an Ambassador At Large and awaiting a current embassy assignment. Just as Expat. He never jokes.

don't take a dunk in the Amazon river and get it all wet, then put it on Patrick's head to dry, just to find out it didn't dry enough, then try to get out of Peru.
    Don't do that!

Well that wasn't the magical passport moment I was expecting. More like cattle getting ear tags. At least the paperwork is done.

Can't get a visa for Mozambique issued in Australia, nearest issuing locations to me were Joburg or London.... yay. Did it on arrival and, if only wishing to pay the advertised fee, it was suppose to be 70/30 % (70 against) being issued. In the end it was (though my picture on it makes me look like a spook trying not to look like a spook, I need to work on that as I am not a spook) and I only had to pay the advertised $US (yes in Mozambique even the Govt prefers $US) fee. What was amusing was that the whole visa process was undertaken in the Veterinary Office (pics of cattle, goats and chickens hand painted on the door), not sure what that says about me..!!!!

From the Visa dept I moved over to the "nice" elite (elite as he had a beret AND sunglasses which in Africa = elite forces) Customs Officer and started the argument about my firearms/ammunition permits and how, in addition to the $250US I had already prepaid to the Police head honcho, there was a "stamping fee" that needed to be paid to him before I got through.

The longest and toughest questioning I have ever had to get into a country was however in CANADA, that fugger in Vancouver just didn't want to let me in !!! Travel...such a wonderful thing.

He wanted $20US, he didn't get it though, conversation ended when the local contact pulled out a mobile phone and said she was calling the Police Commissioner and letting him know this guy was saying that he had not done his job properly and that there was a stamping fee to be paid to rectify it.....when he started yelling and pointing at the door I didn't need to speak Portuguese to know it was time to grab my shyte and make for the door...LOL Then of course them counting the rounds of ammunition I was travelling with.... 1, 2, 3, 26, 40,49, 52, 55, 60 and tick on the form (form said approved for 60, I had 45 in 5 boxes of 9ea). The other Customs Officer (she was not elite, no beret or glasses) was holding one box of 9x and she had not even located the other 4 boxes when she looked (though I maintain I saw her groping my underwear) and when asked to count them off got to 60 from that box of 9.....

Dude, I agree with everything you said and often tell people the same thing, but then they hit me with the whole, use a safe, keep valuables at hotel desk or in your room. Screw that, nothing better than a passport to show officials overseas in any country...plus what you said!

Off to New Zealand in a couple of week... gave the passport a good wipe down with lanolin....if I get stopped and hand it over I know the aroma will distract them and make then want to leave me alone and rush home to the "Mrs".. ;) ;) Well...I hope that's how it goes...
