I've had this Spec Ops sheath for a while and I've purposely saved it for an ESEE 6. I received this 6 today from Dale. A blank blade and TKC handles. I wanted to get this posted so the pics aren't very creative. The Coyote Brown scales work well with the Kryptek Highlander camo on the sheath. I have a Leatherman Surge in the pouch.
Thanks . I had a similar set up a couple years ago. I had to let it go and regretted it. The Spec Ops works great with the ESEE 6. The is a very functional set up.
Hey Majord, On that spec-ops sheath,,, do you heat the kydex liner and form it to the blade so its snug ? What holds the liner in ? A
Yes but I haven't done it for this ESEE 6 yet. I had this sheath for a Spartan Blades Harsey Hunter. You can use a blow dryer, heat gun (cautiously) or boil the liner. The Hunter's blade isn't as tall as the 6. I really didn't care for the fit in the kydex liner even after molding it so I picked up a factory sheath for the Hunter. That's why I've had this sheath sitting around. I knew it needed an ESEE 6. These Combat Master sheaths are absolutely perfect for a 6. The blade fits well already because it was molded to the Spartan Hunter blade thickness. Once you adjust the retention strap to the handle it becomes rock solid. There is a small rectangular piece of velcro on the back of the liner. The matching piece is in the sheath. I use a butter knife or similar thin item to slide between the liner and sheath to release the velcro. As I do I slip in a small piece of shirt cardboard between the velcro pieces as a barrier and extract the liner. I reinstall with the cardboard then slide out the cardboard. Squeeze the velcro together and done. The older style sheaths used a screw at the bottom of the liner but they changed the design a few years ago.
My Esee 6: Also, my Esee AH-1 Arrowhead companion. The sheath mods of Arrowhead sheath & Ferro Rod holder courtesy of Tony at Paracord Gear Store. I rigged up the belt attachment mod by combining the clip plate with the Tek Lok, works great!
