I've got the 13-27" Harris with tilt, usually resides on my 7RM. I love it for sitting. Sometimes it goes on my bushmaster predator.

You guys are going to make me get the GSR before I get the Marlin 1895 45/70 like MOS's! My last two rifles on my wish list.

Any recommendations for some reasonable sights for a 10/22? My eyes are good and I'd like to avoid a scope.

Check out Williams gunsights, they make the firesights with fiber optic inserts. A friend used some on his ruger MKIII pistol and loves them.

I had shot mine for a year or two with just the irons before I got my scope. With some practice, I was able to consistently hit steel at 500 yards. (The scope is much easier though :) )

I see you have one of the polymer Ruger mags. Have you had any problems with that not feeding? The first two I had sucked. The bolt wouldn't pick up the next round to feed. I switched to the Magpuls and didn't look back.

They work really well. If you are accustomed to shooting ar-15 sights, then you should get the tech sights. I really like that they are all metal. No worries about using them roughly.

Marlin 1894C .357 magnum. Scope was a Leupold VX-2 2-7 power. I have replaced the scope with a Nikon p-223 fixed 3 power. This little gun hammers whitetails as hard as a .30-30.

Awesome!!! I'm going to look into some. My 10/22 has a butlercreek folding stock so the scope makes for an iffy cheek weld. And I absolutely love ar arpeture sights. Thanks!

I haven't had any feeding issues at all with the Ruger mags. At least not so far. I've got a single 6 round magpul as well. I got a mish mash of mags from someone dumping a bunch, assorted ruger mags (3 and 10 round), and a different metal mag that I forget the name of. None have had issues. At least not yet.

I'd like to get a couple of the 10 round Magpul, but they're so long, being single stack that I haven't "pulled the trigger" on them yet.

How long have you had the Ruger mags? I bought some when they first came out and they had horrible reviews with the same problem I'm talking about. Hopefully they fixed the problem and I can use some of them too.

JC Customs 300 WM on a remote 700 action. Shilein match barrel, jewel trigger set at a true 1lb 4 ounces. Vortex Viper PST FFP mil/mil. It's my everything rifle.

I have a 25-06 A bolt as well that was my 16th b day present. Love that rifle too!

I got them last year, although I don't know how long the guy before me had them. I've put a collective 500-ish rounds through them though and it's been fine. I still may grab a couple 10 round magpuls since the M14 mag pouches i have are deeper than the Ruger mags are tall, so I end up fighting to fish them out. Not that I NEED 20 extra rounds when I go hunting, but really, they're not so much for the deer.

If you want to try, i can loan you one of my Ruger ten rounders and you can play with it and see if you have the same issues.

I like tech sights on my 10/22. i even changed the front post to a tritium bead. also if you get the ones that go on your factory base you can co-witness a small red dot like the bushnell trs

I've been hunting with this rifle since high school. I've pondered on different through the years but I always go back to this one. The T/C Contender & encore are the best rifles out there IMO! My son hunts with An Encore 243Win.

A close friend has an encore with 300WM and .35whelen barrels, I like it a lot.

I'm thinking of going to a TC Encore as a single shot hunting rifle. I mean, my hunting rifles hold more rounds, but 99% of the time, one shot has always done the trick for me. Single shot for simplicity...and those TC Encores look sweet!
