The 3HM looks like an Iz2 on steroids. I dig it.

Strig, what's your preference between the Esee 3 and the HM variant?

No expert here. Only handled the hm3 once but my experience with the hm4 can help. Id say the hm series is more bushcraft knife. The slabs of micarta are generous and lend themselves to modding to fit the hand like a glove. I mod everything. So the hm3/4 is a great knife.

The esee three is a standard by which all knives are tested against in my opinion. It fits my hand without mod. It has a no frills design that just works. It works well.

Really cant go wrong. I will say the hm series due to the micarta is heavy in the hand compared to the regular series. That can be remedied by a few drill holes in the inside of the scales (thanks semo). Again mod friendly.

Like always buy em both and sell the one you dont like as much.

Right?! Im very familiar with my junglas to baton. When using the six to baton wood i noticed it was harder to do but it wasnt until that pic that i knew why. The junglas and six have their place in my tool box for sure. Options are good.

@ManOfSteel nice range of blades. Is the one below your four from Six Three Bladeworx? I like to stop in and check them out occasionally but their site is still under construction. I really like that blade profile.

The 3HM is what I always wanted the standard 3 to be. It just feels so much better in hand. Awesome knife.
