black eye peas

    Who had them for the new year?

    We just had ours.
    Black eye peas with smoked ham hocks made in to a very thick soup and corn bread.

    I absolutely HATE black eyed peas. I will eat grits before I eat those damn things and I hate grits.

    Lol....we need to make sure Jeff's had properly cooked Black eyed Peas. They are almost as good as purple hull peas. I had some for supper along with some awesome mustard greens and fried pork chops.

    I've only ever had black eye peas with rice, in wraps. Also added to chili with red kidney beans and white navy beans (veggie chili)

    Bahaha, that was my immediate thought as well.

    If I happen to be home at my folks' on New Year's Day, then my mom always makes them for us. Missed out this year, though!
