It's a badass blade in all respects. This is my first blade made of Niolox steel, curious how it holds up.

This is where it's gonna be hanging out:

yup, similar handle feel as the 1311. it's 0.230" thick but only 10.25" long blade so it's more like a junglas: a do-it-all knife (definitely need to be paired with a saw) rather than a chopper...it's a whole lot lighter though at 13 oz so it's fast in the hand. i bet a 1111 would be really close though...i just like the drop point of the b10 better.

About a month ago, I took delivery of a Jääkäri puukko knife after reading a thread in the older forum about full tang Moras https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/terava-jaakaripuukko-110-w-leather-sheath/33531

The thing's a beast with a scandi grind and very thick spine, great for firesteel strikes. The 110 with the sheath is sold out, but they just got delivery of the 140 with the sheath, and the 110 and 140 w/o the leather sheath.

A great deal if you can wait a week and a half while it travels from Finland.

Benson -- I picked up a Hest Folder in the Niolox. I wasn't familiar with it. But from what I read it is a premium steel also known as SB1. It is similar to Elmax, S30V and S35V because of its niobium content. That information is from my notes.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Got all new living room furniture, couple Ozark Trail tumblers, and a fresh keg of Yuengling for the kegorator. Couldn't haven't prepared better for NYG football.

Also picked up a new STORMR STRYKR limited edition jacket. Epic for winter fishing on the Atlantic, ice fishing, or our salmon/steelhead trips. Probably won't hurt for working snowstorms either. Also grabbed a new pair of Salomon Ultra's for daily wear/hiking with @JV3 this fall

Well I was going to sell my 3 to get the funds, but my wife wouldn't let me. So she's now the proud owner of a new Esee 3. :D

Rad - thanks for the info. JD! I'm not a steel afficianado by any stretch, but I do love me some crucible steel! Most of my (favorite) knives are s30v, s35vn, or Elmax - so I hope the SB1 holds-up comparatively.

Zknives also has some good info. about the origins, composition and comparisons to other tool/knife steels.

After getting my Akribis, I became a huge Spartan fan. They definitely have their s35vn processing down and great CS as a company. I hope to own a Spartan Harsey Folder at some point too - that knife is downright gorgeous! :)

I was gifted a Phrike, and Horkos, along with a Velos that I bought at Blade this year, got to meet and hang with Bill Harsey, Mark, and Curtis, via Brian Wagner of Okuden. The other guys I was at Blade with bought all of the last Harsey folders at Blade. The ones in the case all day Sunday were only there for show, as my buddy had purchased them Saturday. Spartan dudes are top notch, as are their products!
