Wanting to carrying my Springfield Range Officer 1911. Never carried a full size gun before. What holsters are you guys using for full size firearms? I like 3 o'clock carry IWB. Not apposed to leather but have always carried Kydex.

I carry a full size 1911 every day and have for many years. As holsters go, I've tried 'em all and for IWB at 3 o'clock (how I carry as well) my vote is Milt Sparks VMII. Leather is much more comfortable for me because after using it for awhile it shapes itself to fit your body like a glove. Kydex always feels like you have a 2x4 in your pants!

I've fallen in love with my KingTuk for my P30. The leather/kydex hybrid is great IMO

    I prefer Kydex as well.

I recommend JM Custom Kydex and Dark Star Gear.

I actually prefer carrying a 1911 to anything else. The slim profile makes it more comfortable than pistols that are smaller and weigh less, like a Glock for example. A quality holster and belt make all the difference in the world.

Haven't been a fan of the hybrids but might go that route with the bigger firearm.

I got tired of dressing around a gun a while back. I carry what I can reasonably conceal under a t-shirt. Surprising sometimes what one can pull off.

Too many AD's with leather, although I'm not opposed to hybrids. For me its KingTuk, or open carry.

Most people are oblivious and you can spot newbs because they're always checking and re-checking to make sure they arent showing something they shouldn't. Make a game of spotting the noob; your awareness will thank you.

I'm always looking. What's funny is the open carry guys around here probably see me staring at them in amazement. They think I'm opposed to guns or something. No - I am generally opposed to open carry though. Mostly, I am just acutely aware most of the open carry guys around here have extremely poor guns and gear, never carry extra mags, and are completely unaware of their surroundings. They look like complete tools. THAT's what I'm staring at.

Anything really. An un-tucked t-shirt or short sleeved button up with shorts for the most part.

I don't get it, how do you attribute more AD's to leather?

IWB Leather softens up and finds its way inside the trigger guard when the gun is being holstered. There's several videos on youtube and that's enough for me.

That is completely impossible with a VMII, you can't squeeze the leather into contact with the trigger if you try.
