Still running with the 5.11 covrt 18 you helped me acquire, Everett. :)
This thing has seen a few states and taken a beating.

German alpine rucksack I picked up somewhere. Comfortable, holds enough for me and the kids for longer hikes. I can fit a 1L Nalgene in each of the side pouches.

Plus there's a space between the main pouch and the two side pouches that's big enough to slip a machete sheath in. I put my BK16 there for reference.

This is my most used bag. Made by S.O. Tech Tactical called their Mission Go Bag (MGO).

I've had this pack for over two years now and aside from a couple things I would change about it, it does everything I need from it and then some. It blends into urban areas well, doesn't look overly tactical but has the functionality I like about tactical packs and the subdued colors that seem to be non existent on civilian packs

Like most of us I go through a lot of gear, but I honestly haven't even looked at another pack since I bought this one

My sfa straps to the side very well

I added the two clips just I case I need them and use them a lot in the summer for my fishing net

My latest pack acquisitions have been these two. Finally picked up a Hill People Gear Kit bag, so now the G17 w/X300U and a spare mag are always in reach and don't interfere with hip belts. Also the Osprey Poco to carry the extra special cargo. She likes it so far, and has been on a 5.5 mile hike with us just this past weekend. She managed to sleep about 40 minutes, but spent the rest of the time looking at everything around her.

I'm still rocking a Blackhawk! 3-day assault pack I've had since 2006 for EDC. It's a bit overkill. I'm considering a GR1 or Rucker, but the Blackhawk just won't die. I tried a Tarahumara for EDC, but it was too small some days. It's been relegated to day hike status.

For large loads, I'm using a heavily modded ILBE - excess material removed, HPG shoulder harness and Prairie Belt.

Recently picked up a blaze orange HPG Palspocket for strapping to my climbing tree stand. Need to pick up some velcro backed pouches and Pocket Harness to explore that organizing option.

As for pouches - I EDC a Spec Ops Gear pocket organizer (ten years old and still kicking) in my pack and use Equinox Puffer Ultralight pouches for most everything else. Those Puffer pouches make it easy to keep stuff together in a big pack without much weight.

My search for the ultimate pack ended with the Arc'Teryx LEAF Khard 30 a couple of years ago, its about as perfect as I've been able to find.

The only thing I wish was different would be a better selection of pouches that don't cost as much as the pack itself. I'd really like if arcteryx made some pouches themselves

For now, I'll just put this one here as an entry.

This is my Eberlestock Halftrack packed for day/overnight (emergency only) on the coast of Maine at Owls Head Peninsula near Rockland on Route 1, where I lived a couple of years ago from December through May. I walked on and in the ocean every day -- even during blizzards -- carrying this pack. It was fitness, pleasure and training.

That's Sheep Island in the background. Open Atlantic is to the right.
That rock is part of Avalonia that resulted from the break up of Pangaea.
It's a very cool geologic story.

I got the same half track (coyote) from someone on this forum used a few years back. Love that thing.

I'm 66. I've been carrying/wearing packs since I was 9. I've carried some of the best backpacks ever created. Up til the Halftrack, my favorite was a 20 yo Gregory Atlas expedition pack , 75 liters. Carried it all over NM and southern CO for up to two weeks.

My halftrack has an even better suspension system, even though half the size.
And the barn door and internal organization excels over anything else I've carried.

Speaking of that SFA. Here's an image of it.

I miss it in winter. I use the Wildlife Hatchet in warmer seasons, but will buy another SFA for winter.
