Decided to try turkey hunting this year. What a blast, I see why people get so into it.
Got this bird opening day in the mountains, spent 2 days clearing downed trees and fighting through snow to scout the area, marking birds and sign. Spent hours on maps planning possible tactics. Went up a week later and put it all together. Several hours calling, moving, calling to get him interested. So much fun, ready to go again.

Got to go out today but forgot my phone in the truck. Happy to say the meat is in the fridge waiting to be ground tomorrow.

Couple pics from recent fishing trips. Spring time is my favorite, water temps warming and fish getting more and more active!

Went to one of my favorite lakes, accessible via a boat ride up a small creek. Not much going on yet with perch and crappie, spent a little time chasing bass.

Second pic is a "jumbo" stocked trout from another lake. Fun to catch but not much for eating. This one had rounded fins and beat up snout.

got invited to hunt with a friend this weekend. Let the sons do the hunting so I was more of a supportive role. We got a couple deer but the boys didn’t take pictures. We were also able to do some shed hunting. Not a bad little haul.

Managed to work out a pretty good walleye season this year.
Spent a lot of time learning new areas and it paid off!

Hunting was good today. 15 yard shot complete pass through. Deer ran about 30 yards and dropped. Venison burger on the menu. I gave my friend the hind quarters for some venison jerky. Mmmmmm.

The avocado hunting was not the best today however. Last trip we had 2 buckets full.

That top pic with your boat/trailer in the creek is some gorgeous terrain! Something about seeing wetlands and mountain ridge in the same landscape adds to my boredom with south Louisiana.

One Yote Peek a booed a little too long. Had been following him for quite a while, thought the tracks were a bit older, saw a flash ahead of me out the corner of my eye. I sprinted 90 to my left anticipating him to circle downwind and smell..... sure enough he was headed down wind but did not expect to see me in a different spot so soon LOL.
