If you compare my previous pic to this 1 you'll see I put this to work today. This edge held up fine in my opinion. No esee but it still cuts paper and that isn't something I try to be able to do with a knife I use the way I do lol. The blade coating is another story. . . Thats going pretty quick. Now to shine it back up and put this away and get my 4 back out were it belongs lol.
Maybe yall can help. I'm trying to find something for my 4's sheath similar to what the 5 comes with to hang lower off a belt. A leather backer/loop would be ideal. Anyone have any ideas on a quality piece like this?
No I havnt. I've never seen one carried that way on a belt. Usually when I've seen the molle it's been stuck on a pack of sorts. Anyone have a pic of that setup on a belt?
I haven't tried it on a 4 yet, but a huge blade like the J2 carries so comfortable with the belt loop of the molle backer, that I'm sure the 4 will be amazing in that regard. When I have a backpack with a waist belt, the J2 carries better than any of the knives with clips that I've had, because it really stays below the waist belt. I like it so much that when cash permits it, I will order mole backs for my 6 and 4, and probably even for the 3. I would have 2 sheaths for each - one with the clip and one with the molle.
Made way for a future etching on the spine but left the rest of the coating on cause I really don't know what to etch on it. Plus I kinda like the black n silver look. Got different scales coming for it also.
Oops I did it again.. Oh wait, wrong thing lol. Modding Monday I guess. Added a couple more etchings to the Harley 4. Unfortunately I had to remove part of the nice patina she had going on but she'll get it back. Still need to put the lanyard and bead back on also.
Todays Training. Rock, Knife, Char and the ESEE Tin. The 4 throws the best sparks of all my ESEE's. Using Curls for my Tinder, and the Tin to keep them from blowing away as I huff on it. Never gets old.........
Not Sure this is what your asking about, but I made these mods so I could hump my pack while wearing a Knife. Rides under the waist belt a lot better. Photo of backside.
Yeah something like that. I'd found this on the bay and was curious. Of quality. I've never used kydex myself but I gather it would be pretty simple to make this
Should work fine for you. I needed drop for my waist belt, odds are if I have a Knife, I have a Pack, and if I have a Pack, I have a Knife. Here's some that I have done. Apologies if I am getting off track here............
Not perfect but it's functional, and first time doing it. Dremel got away from me so I know better for next time lol. Modded stock sheath.
Nah, it was just for fun. I have another sheath and set of scales coming for that 4. I thought I wanted the black n red but they're not too red.
Got these washers in today also. Might have to get another esee to put them on. (this one is going OD green soon)
