Knowing most here as I do I am sure the phrase “she’ll be right mate” was uttered at point just before forward motion ceased !! https://apac01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https://www.news.com.au/national/south-australia/familyoffour-stranded-after-getting-bogged-in-south-australian-desert/news-story/cdd3609cb7fd53e27ef2f1f7f8b8752c&data=04|01||dc8e5f37b8244f96514c08d9a6f1873f|84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa|1|0|637724378561042510|Unknown|TWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0=|1000&sdata=MidjAAqWwVEZlDWAn2uW3KyWZy2O+whePmAER/sbKAo=&reserved=0
Oof... Does anyone really go out that far expecting to be neatly assisted by anyone? I can imagine several other non-headlines about a highly prepared family with a well tested plan.
No you don’t go with the expectation but even the best laid plans can go bad. Out here the environment kills more people than the wildlife and serial killers combined
Yep you do. Most can’t process the size and lack of population here. Alaska is always the example I give. But hot
Smart enough to have a beacon and stay with the vehicle. You keep hearing about people who wandered away from the vehicle (which was found quickly) only to be found (much later) dead.
.............yes on both counts mate, as you note so many times the vehicle is found in short order after someone walks off. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-11...d-near-campsite-in-central-australia/12934514 .....the area this poor chap passed away in has claimed a few unprepared travelers as well.
Australia scares me .. as if the climate doesbt quite deter me enough ,spiders in the sleeping bag.. no thanks !!
