Great knife!! I've had mine for a few weeks now and it is, hands down, the best ESEE knife I've used to date (still want the 6hm when funds allow). As an outdoors knife it does everything I've asked of it - it cuts stuff!! Super handy size and weight, I wear mine around my neck with a bit of paracord. Flozzy green paracord lanyard to assist it out the sheath and spot it on the woodland floor (it's beautifully camouflaged otherwise) Excellent work to all involved - classic design built right
Is there a particular reason the Camplore logos went away? I am probably in the minority here, but I like it so much more then the standard logo for these type of knives.
I have to admit, I really liked the Camp-Lore logo too. I need to find another new PR-4 with the Camp-Lore logo. I want to revisit this knife. It just has so much potential.
Here is a well used one with the camplore logo. The one I want now is the one with the skull logo, but you only get that one from a class.
No that was right after we processed a cow, switched blade to do some fish and went back to it and it looked like that. A quick wipe down with white vinegar and a rub with @RedEyedHog Bfat and this is it now.
Picked up a PR4. I thought when it was introduced it was one ugly knife but now think of it as more businesslike than ugly. It is businesslike with nothing there that isn't necessary or functional. Looking forward to getting this thing in the woods where it belongs.
I really like the scalloped micarta scales on the PR4, but like many folks I found them to be too thin. I utilized Shane’s DYI PR4 liner video to make a set. I’m no craftsman, and I lack certain power tools, so they aren’t pretty but they’re functional and they really transform the feel of the scales in hand. Shane used .03” thick g10, but I used .06”, since I wanted more girth. If anyone is wondering, the JG5 hardware works for this thickness as well. A bit of encouragement and wet forming is needed for the sheath, but it’s working just fine. Thanks @shaneadams90 for putting out that video to help us out! It was a fun little project. I could still clean them up a bit, and make them perfectly flush, but knives are made for using and the imperfections aren’t getting to me yet. If anything they add some character like a good dent in a car or a fine receding hairline. Best, WCT
